how to deal with the weird? Stay away from them:- Period!!
147Participant2 items of food.
147ParticipantWhatever helps the religious is what every Israeli citizen should be voting for. Voting for Lapid or not bothering to vote altogether may well be violation of “Lo Sa’amod Al Dam Rei’acho” when our Yeshivos & Kollelim are so terribly hurting.
147ParticipantHonestly, I do not think Rabbeim are paid enough for what they do According to your assertion from Long island, which is probably very correct assertion, then why aren’t we giving Matonos loEvyonim to the Rabbi instead of Shelach Monos? Certainly they don’t need 200 bottles of wine & grape juice, but may well need the money.
147Participanttwo ice cream cones is still one min & hence can both be consumed @Seudo Mafsekes not violating restriction of 1 food at that tragic Seudo {Only scheduled twice during next 8 years}.
147ParticipantR’H & Y’K it must be White. Otherwise refer to today’s Parsha of Tetzaveh where most of the Begodim are light blue:- {Sorry no black hats & dark suits nor white shirts}.
147ParticipantThere are specific halachas pertaining to a Rov’s child being entitled to inherit his father’s position as town rov. The current Bobov Rebbe shlita HoRav Ben-Zion Halberstam shlita this Tuesday is in office exactly 1 Decade. We wish him many more decades of his wonderful leadership.
147ParticipantYou think Queen Elizabeth is special? Yes:- IY’H come this September, and she shall IY’H have been on throne longer than Queen Victoria.
She is also an exemplary example, having been married for over 67 years, since November 1947.
147ParticipantBecause commencing with the 20th Johrzeit, the Arachin value of the 1st people who were named after them is about to shoot up threefold from 20 Shekolim to 60 Shekolim.
147ParticipantEvery puff of a cigarette without a single exception is a failure of compliance with a Chiyuv Min haToroh of “vNishmartem Meod leNafshoseichem”.
147ParticipantWhen we get to Nisson 26th on Yehoshua’s Johrzeit, since there are no sons [be it daughters or no children] who is taking care of Kaddish recital?
147ParticipantI read this term a lot and I am unsure of its meaning. Naturei Karta.
147ParticipantAnd the birth parents don’t lose their status as the child’s halachic parents Critically important message for all divorcing parents and their long retinue of cronies to internalize & implement all the way.
147ParticipantI refer you all to an exceedingly well know Posuk in Yeshayohu, Perek 2, Posuk 3:- “Ki MiZion Tetzei Toroh uDevar haShem m’Yerusholayim” a verse recited at least once every 3 days, being recited at every single Hotzo’as haToroh.
Now we all know that Toroh will endure & outlast everything else, and since Toroh emanates from Zion & not from St. Mary. So clearly the ideology of Zionism as per this Posuk shall be around far longer than the ideology of Satmar.
147ParticipantToday is the 22nd anniversary of the 1st attack on the World Trade Center, which I remember all too well. Needless to say, I shall be spending the day in introspection at the reflecting pools and at the 9/11 museum.
147ParticipantCopying a Tzadik & aspiring to his ways is a wonderful thing:- Needless to say, Shakespeare was a big Tzadik, since he died on his 52nd birthday, and thus was Mashlim his year.
147ParticipantAccording to the Remoh in Yoreh Deah, he mentions 1 hour from meat to milk. The Remoh was the Godol haDor in his day & age, so if that is good for him, it is good for me.
147ParticipantLakewood is no longer frozen since 3 weeks ago.
February 25, 2015 2:02 am at 2:02 am in reply to: Eating a shabbos meal over somebody's house from #1061013147ParticipantHow about Purim Seudo & Seder nite over at somebody’s house from CR?
147Participantdon’t feel like its the right time for that other than Iyyor 2nd-17th, the other periods of Omer are the right time to get married; Either get married the week after Pessach & observe 2nd part of Omer in mourning, or marry after Lag b’Omer and observe the 1st 33 days in mourning.
147ParticipantSimcha613:- Your remarks are so correct, and all the wonders we have in Eretz Yisroel since the Medina, are absolutely priceless:- “Avira Eretz Yisroel Machkima”, so how blessed we are to have Medinat Yisroel.
147ParticipantTake your time & don’t act irrational. Too much at stake.
147ParticipantI hereby remind 147 that zionism existed before medinat yisrael. But Churban haBayis was certainly anti Jewish, yet was way before Zionism.
147ParticipantWhilst Lior theoretically is correct, but since the intended goal is that this individual end up acting correctly, so let the rabbi be your Sholiach to converse with this individual, as no-doubt the Rabbi will have more expertise to win the point over to this individual.
147ParticipantI also have a message for Naturei Karta, tonite Adar 5th being exactly 2 months until Yom ha’Atzmaut. My message is:- Yom ha’Atzmaut Sameach to Naturei Karta, and you are invited to partake with us @ our Seudas Mitzva this Yom ha’Atzmaut, just 2 months away.
147ParticipantI hereby remind KJ chusid, that I am old enough to vividly remember the Chevron massacre on Shabbos Eikev, 18th Ov, 5689 when 67 fellow Jews were murdered by Arabs. So how dare anyone attribute attacks onto Zionism or Medinat Israel. Nothing could be further removed from the truth, indeed as leahle so correctly states vis a vis WW2 which was before our wonderful gift of Medinat Israel.
This coffee room which is doing a wonderful service, certainly is not a forum for any lies nor distortion of facts.
147ParticipantThe answer to your question flatbusher is that every Jew owes HaKoras haTov to Medinat Yisroel, and of-course to The Ribonno Shel Olom for having Orchestreted this wonderful gift to us on Yom haAtzmaut 1948, and hence we thank haShem by reciting Hallel on Yom haAtzmaut, and marvel on haShem having showered upon us this wonderful gift of Medinat Yisroel >>> Free access to Artzeinu haKedosho.
Praying tfor Medinat Yisroel to shape up being frumer is fine & noble, but we must still be Makir Tov for the good they serve us with.
147ParticipantMenachem Begin ZT’L whose 23rd Johrzeit is today 4th Adar Sheni as well as Binyomin Netanyohu are tremendous Ohavei Yisroel as Giuliani is a tremendous Oheiv America.
On the other end of the spectrum, Obama is a huge Sonei America, like 2 certain estranged brother are Sonei Medinat Yisroel.
147ParticipantKeep your seat belt, and think:- Boruch haShem I am not on a boat out at sea being sea sick.
147ParticipantDoes becoming MO make you rich?</em. Yes vis a vis gathering Sechar for Shemiras Yom ha’Atzmaut.
147ParticipantAssume the gentleman keeps his lip balm tube, at back of his Tallis bag probably with his handkerchief, and that he brings Tallis bag to Shul before Kabolas Shabbos & brings it home after Motzei Shabbos, so chances that he carried in street are exceedingly remote to say the least.
Then assume that what looks like lip balm, may have been tube of disinfectant & that maybe he had oral surgery this week, and must keep his mouth well disinfected. This is not remote thinking:- I had oral surgery this Friday 2 days ago, so these scenarios are more real than you goofus would care to believe.
147ParticipantBinyomin Netanyohu should keep up his excellent work for we Bnai Yisroel and not be scared off by the reprehensible remarks made against him earlier today by a rabbi visiting Belgium.
147ParticipantBecause giving them money would be WE giving them money by increasing our taxes to raise this money to give obedient drivers.
147ParticipantYou should be reading the Shidduch column/forum in this week’s Yated Ne’eman. This is the exact topic which was discussed in this week’s issue.
147ParticipantEveryone knew the local Jewish dialects i.e. Ivrit the language of our Toroh & Siddur & Machzor & Hagoddoh and most of Nach & language of Mishna, and numerous Seforim. It is also the oldest language in the world, the only language predating Tower of Bavel.
147ParticipantYes:- In Parshas Shemini after installation of Mishkon when it says that Aharon came down & blessed the people after induction of Mishkon, whose Tzivui is in this week’s Parsha of TeTzaveh which is direct continuation of Terumoh.
FYI Shemini shall be read in Israel in another 7 weeks and in the Diaspora in another 8 weeks.
147ParticipantBeing just 2 months away from Yom ha’Atzmaut, I wish both of them a sincere Yom ha’Atzmaut Sameach, & look forward IY’H to all of we Benai Yisroel reciting Hallel in unison & Achdus.
147ParticipantHow much time before Neitz on R’H? & on Y’K?
147ParticipantM:- Please let us know from your Nevuah on what date this war of Gog & MaGog shall culminate with Eliyahu haNovie & Bi’as haMoschiach?
147ParticipantI can give you plenty of straphanger rage. Barely a day goes by, without some stalled train of sick passenger.
147ParticipantCurrently dangerous for you batshevaf as well as for Netanyahu to be going to Chevron.
But if you still must go, look at the lampposts in Geulo, which are full of advertisement of buses to Chevron, most of them in English.
147ParticipantIf you hashtagposter can wait until 2023 to get from EWR to Brooklyn, you’ll have a simpler time, as they are commencing to build extension for the Path train to Newark Airport in 2018, and hope to have it running by 2023.
147ParticipantThe traditional answer to the first question (someone who speaks only one language): an American.
Truthfully, there are several answers to this question:-
American
British
Canadian [if not from Quebec]
Australian
New Zealander
or simply:- Anglo Saxon.
I have not included South African, as they tend to know Afrikaans.
147ParticipantWhen you go to a Yekkeh wedding you are not sure if you are at a wedding or a fundraising dinner till you hear the rabbi speak. Until you hear Shir HaMa’alos {Psalm 128} being sung.
147ParticipantWhere did the year go?! I am a “Shemitta observing” farmer, and the year is far from gone; Still another 7 agonizing remaining months of Shemitta left in front of us, before I can get back to work on my field.
February 13, 2015 12:26 pm at 12:26 pm in reply to: ‘Zichron Moishe- style’ Yom Kippur Kotton in BP? #1060309147ParticipantThere’s a ??? ????? ??? every month. Except 4 times each year:-
1) Nisson 29th
2) Ellul 29th
3) Tishri 29th
4) Kisslev 29th
On these 4 times, Yom Kippur Kotton does not convene.
147ParticipantDon’t we all have a seudas Shabbos prepared at home? So I have an incredibly ingenious solution for you flatbusher:- Keep a box of Matzo @your Shul, and when there is a Kiddush, lave your hands and consume a sheet of Matzo, and you thus will be fulfilling Seudo Sheniyo at the Kiddush.
By the time you eat more food at home later, that becomes your Seudo Schelischis; This is especially ingenious solution during short winter days.
147ParticipantMake sure she foots the bill for this trip herself, and not a penny from her husband’s account nor from a joint account.
147ParticipantI hereby wish all our Israeli Shemitta observant trees a sincere & heartfelt Shono Tovo uMesuko as they celebrate Tu bShevat this Wednesday.
147ParticipantIs food fed to the birds tax deductible? given that most birds are desperate for food and hence probably destitutely poor.
