Is anyone familiar with ZipCar rentals? How do they work – where do you pickup and return the car? When returning it, do you just park it on the street (in Brooklyn)? And how does it compare (cost and otherwise) with a traditional car rental?
Each ZipCar has a designated parking space (generally in parking lots or gas stations) and every member has an access card. after reseving a car through a browser or smartphone app your card will unlock that particular car. The rental is completed when the car is returned to its designated parking space.
The cost per rental is cheaper than a traditional rental but there is a membership fee.
u can find coupons and credits if u open a new account.
zip car pays for ur gas so thts pretty good too.
they have cars parked in random garages all over, u reserve a car at whatever lot u want and at whatever time u want, go there and swipe ur car on the spot on the windshield which unlocks the door and off u go.
1 tip is to scout out the cars b4 u pick one bec some have “zipcar” written in huge letters across the car, while some just have it in tiny print on the back. im assuming u dont wanna be a huge ad for zip car as u drive all over town.
