Does anyone here know anything about the Jewish Communities that were in the small towns of Zhinkov and Proskurov? Anyone else have ancestors from there? What kind of Shtetl were they?
Proskurov is a city. It’s called Chmelnitskiy now.

Which Zhinkov? There was a larger community in Zinkov in the western Ukraine, and another named Zhinkov closer to Kiev (they might look the same in English, but they start with different letters in Ukranian).
The only thing that I know about Zhinkov is what my great-Grandfather sort of remembered and wrote in his memoirs, and that’s next to nothing.
