so i just opened a forum as a takeover of another forum…so i started off with a nice userbase. only 7- users now but they are REALLY active! and im the only mod/admin. it is a full time job. srsly. wow…so much work.
what site? im thinking of leaving this one…. lol

bpt- well you dont wanna comment on the threads that i want you to…. all kidding aside you have no clue how much some of the things you said affected me. i will admit that I always had this “hang up” that why should i wanna get married and have to deal with all the technical halachos and always have to make supper, be there for my husband and kids…. i would just rather have a boy friend and have no commitment, but your comment really changed my view and i am not eagerly awaiting my chance!!!

OK, that single word makes a HUGE difference, especially when read in the context of the rest of the post:
*I always had this “hang up” that why should i wanna get married and have to deal with all the technical halachos
*always have to make supper, be there for my husband and kids….
*i would just rather have a boy friend and have no commitment
That, and the comment earlier today on the topic of mixed gender friends (that a married man is less of a problem!)
OK, giant step back. Re-read with the word NOW, changes the whole thing.

You’re probably confused because you read adorable’s comment as a HUGE compliment to bpt & he responded as if he was disrespected.
Adorable was writing how she used to have a more negative outlook on marriage until bpt in his wisdom made a comment that “REALLY CHANGED MY VIEW.”
This is a huge compliment and a big feather in anyone’s cap to have effected such a dramatic change in attitude to a way more positive one.
We understood this despite the typo.
Could we all focus on bein adam l’chaveiro here in the CR especially in light of what’s going on in the world currently?

Not me, that I took to being disrespected. It was the sanctity of marraige I thought was under attack
And you do make a very important point: words can do much good or C’V much harm.
And sorry (as is the case here) doesn’t always work.
Still, I’ve had my fair share of positive, supportive, encouraging posts, so hopefully, I’ll be judged by the larger picture.
