July 4, 2011 10:19 am at 10:19 am #782878kapustaParticipantWhat kind?
Alton Brown has some recipes. I’ve never tried them myself but from what I’ve read/seen his stuff is usually pretty good.
(Oh, and once you decide on a recipe, how would I get some?)

July 4, 2011 12:33 pm at 12:33 pm #782882ImaofthreeParticipantNestle’s choc chip cookies (on the bag of choc chips) but those choc chips are dairy so you may want to get pareve choc chips. enjoy!
July 4, 2011 12:50 pm at 12:50 pm #782883tzippiMemberLevana Kirschenbaum has one, without margarine, in one of her cookbooks. A few tips: measure oil carefully, you don’t want to go overboard, and if the oven is truly preheated take them out at exactly 8 minutes.
July 4, 2011 1:58 pm at 1:58 pm #782884oomisParticipantHonestly, the best recipe bar none is the original Toll House cookie recipe on the back of the Nestles chocolate chips bag. The chips are no longer pareve, so I don’t use them for baking, but I kept the recipe. Add chopped walnuts, it really makes the difference.
July 4, 2011 5:16 pm at 5:16 pm #782885tzippiMemberP.S. Since I can’t edit: the 8 minute rule is for my oven. Try it in yours the second batch you take out. Wait a few minutes and you’ll see what I mean. Your oven might need 9 minutes, or if you like crunchy cookies, 10.

this recipe is easy to follow and a real hit…it’s dangerous as you can’t stop after just having one!
July 4, 2011 7:21 pm at 7:21 pm #782887happiestMemberthe Neiman Marcus cookie recipe is AWESOME!!!!
July 4, 2011 11:09 pm at 11:09 pm #782888commonsenseParticipantI am lazy to go get the recipes and type them, but if you want the toll house recipe or the neiman marcus recipe i can get them for you. Try googling them, I am sure they are online.
July 5, 2011 2:09 am at 2:09 am #782889minyan galMemberMany years when the email about the Neiman Marcus cookies was in circulation, I did try the recipe. It was excellent, but it was a huge recipe. If you don’t wish to stand and bake cookies for several hours, I suggest you make half a recipe – at least the first time that you try it.
July 5, 2011 2:54 am at 2:54 am #782890yummy cupcakeMemberi have an amazing recipe for choco chip cookies that i got in sem, i have already made it quite a few times. they come out nice and chewy, just the way they should be! the only potchke is once all the ingredients are together in the mixing bowl, mixing them can be quite a task, cuz it gets very crummy. but other than that, it’s great and they only take 8 min. in the oven!!!! i can look up the recipe tomorrow.
July 5, 2011 3:04 am at 3:04 am #782891seeallsidesParticipantto avoid a crumby dough, first beat the margarine until fluffy, then add the eggs, and then add all the rest of the ingredients slowly so that the liquid can handle the powdery stuff.
July 5, 2011 3:19 am at 3:19 am #782892kapustaParticipantminyan:
Tip for making chocolate chip cookies (that I never tried)
Shape the dough into a log and freeze. When you’re ready to make them, pull it out of the freezer and make slices.
(It would probably work for other cookie doughs too)
July 5, 2011 4:09 pm at 4:09 pm #782893minyan galMemberkapusta: that is how I make my mohn cookies. I converted the traditional recipe to and “icebox” recipe. One recipe of my cookies will make 4 rolls. I can cut them frozen and dip them in sugar (if I wish – they are already quite sweet). They are one of my favorite cookies and certainly the best mohn cookie recipe there is. If anyone wants the recipe, just let me know.
July 5, 2011 8:59 pm at 8:59 pm #782894adorableParticipantthe ones on the back of the bag of Paskez chocolate chips are the best. easy recipe and good soft heaven cookies.
