    It’s hard to come up with one and even harder to spell it.

    The Asterix books come up with some pretty funny names for Romans, Greeks, Egyptians and Gauls (ancient French people). Check them out sometime.

    I didn’t know dead people were allowed to post, but then again, they never asked me.

    Kugelpatra.

    Before you start laughing at my taste in names, remember this – when Bnei Yisrael were dwelling in Mitzrayim, we commend them for not giving their children Egyptian names, so it just didn’t seem right to make up an 100% Egyptian name for myself!

    @rebyidd – In English. But I ran it through a hieroglyphics typewriter thing I found online, and it made some sense. 😛 I think I’ll carve it into some stone and stick it in a pyramid somewhere; the archaeologists will be so confused! 😀

    @oomis – It is indeed! 😀

    Moshe, a fine Egyptian name bestowed by a princess.

    The interesting thing about Moshe Rabbeinu’s name is that the princess was speaking HEBREW when she said “Ki mi hamayim mishisihu.” Go figure… I wonder what the name really sounded like in Egyptian.

    Actually, this may be in the gemorah, the torah records the loshon hakodesh version of what she said in Egyptian.
