You know you spend too much time in the CR when…
…Your chavrusa says something and you wonder how it got by the mods.
…Somebody IRL asks you a question and you answer, “isn’t there a thread about that already?”
…You look around the Beis Medrash and wonder how many of the people are real and how many are just different versions of Joseph.
November 10, 2011 5:22 am at 5:22 am #1197298popa_bar_abbaParticipantYour wife asks you what your cousin’s name is, and you shriek “Joseph” and call the police.
November 10, 2011 5:24 am at 5:24 am #1197299real-briskerMember42 – This deserves caps – YOU GOT ME ROLLING!! I CAN’T STOP!!
November 10, 2011 5:24 am at 5:24 am #1197300am yisrael chaiParticipantYou know you spend too much time in the CR when…
…you think being called Joseph is not a good thing
(the outside world actually calls Yoseph a tzaddik, d’ya remember?!)
November 10, 2011 5:27 am at 5:27 am #1197301OneOfManyParticipantYou are convinced that all your friends IRL are secretly on CR and drive yourself crazy trying to figure out who they are…
November 10, 2011 5:29 am at 5:29 am #1197302🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantyour kids are waiting for their dinner that you forgot to make because you were busy posting.(For the record, I never did that!)

November 10, 2011 3:55 pm at 3:55 pm #1197305HaLeiViParticipantWhen, upon hearing anything about Starbucks you think, Popa!
When you understand every post. Especially when you know all the Leshitasos.

November 10, 2011 5:00 pm at 5:00 pm #1197307JotharMemberYosef is the tzaddik, not “Joseph”, unless you’re Christian.

November 10, 2011 9:09 pm at 9:09 pm #1197311BaalHaboozeParticipant…You go post your shailas in the CR before even thinking of going to your LOR for a psak.
…As you skim through a menu in a sushi restaurant you can’t help thinking how each of the names of dishes would make for a great SN
…as your family is sitting around the shabbos table saying funny stories and jokes and laughing, you holler “LOL! LOL!”
November 10, 2011 9:24 pm at 9:24 pm #11973122scentsParticipantWhen you start complaining that the mods are not modding..
November 11, 2011 12:08 am at 12:08 am #1197313am yisrael chaiParticipant“Yosef is the tzaddik, not “Joseph”, unless you’re Christian.”
Our lost brothers and sisters are definitely not Chr, and many of us who dabble in kiruv use these names.
November 11, 2011 12:46 am at 12:46 am #1197314☕️coffee addictParticipantthanks 2cents,
I think that was the only one I do
November 11, 2011 3:03 am at 3:03 am #1197315Fake-teenMemberomg ayc you do kiruv? Where?
November 11, 2011 3:59 pm at 3:59 pm #1197316BaalHaboozeParticipant-when you crave for a coffee and start heading to your computer.
-when you get in a heated argument with someone and the best you can come up with to call them is ‘Joseph’!
-you start introducing yourself to new people you meet as your SN instead of your real name! (that almost happened to me yesterday, but I figured maybe it had something to do with that case of wine I polished off for supper. y’think?) 😉
November 11, 2011 4:43 pm at 4:43 pm #1197317ZeesKiteParticipant…it comes to the end of the week, and I have nothing to show for it..
November 12, 2011 8:56 pm at 8:56 pm #1197318Shticky GuyParticipant…When you realize, or more likely that your spouse/kids (do remember them?) point out to you, that you have become addicted to decaffeinated coffee.
November 13, 2011 12:38 am at 12:38 am #1197319YW Moderator-42ModeratorShticky Guy, LOL
November 13, 2011 9:47 am at 9:47 am #1197320Shticky GuyParticipantWow! An LOL from a mod! That really is chashuv! (Even from only an occasional one!). Thank you. I’ve only been zoche to that once before in all my four and a half years! I only hope this was with your mod hat on and not chas vshalom the dolt hat, or even worse, one of the many joseph ones…
November 13, 2011 4:15 pm at 4:15 pm #1197321JotharMemberAYC, agreed 100%. Joseph is a tzaddik, but due to his own sins he spent 12 years in jail.
December 8, 2016 7:29 am at 7:29 am #1197322LightbriteParticipant5yr old thread
…You talk about the CR in therapy
December 8, 2016 8:33 am at 8:33 am #1197323Lilmod UlelamaidParticipantThis was funny! Thanks LB!
December 8, 2016 1:55 pm at 1:55 pm #1197324LightbriteParticipantYou check CR before brushing your teeth
You get antsy motzei Shabbat
You are proud of yourself when you don’t post for a day (it’s been so long since that’s happened)
You try to come up with either an exit strategy or current compromise (How do people spend so many years posting? Do you intentionally make this part of your life? Is being in the CR a disclosure in shudduchim?)
December 10, 2016 10:25 pm at 10:25 pm #1197325Lilmod UlelamaidParticipantYou spend Shabbos thinking about how happy you are that there is one day a week that you aren’t in the Coffee Room, and your next thought is that you want to post that thought as soon as Shabbos is over (not that that ever happened to me 🙂 As you can see, Shabbos has been over for 6 and a half hours already).
