So people think that we yeshiva guys don’t know stuff, because we don’t learn nach and stuff. But of course we know stuff.
For example in today’s daf.
We know nach.
We know the story where chaggai tested the kohanim to see if they still remembered the halachos of tumaa and tahara. We know he asked them what the halacha is if you touch a sherretz to bread, and the bread to beans, and the beans to wine, and the wine to oil–is it tamei. And they said no. But it’s a machlokes if they were right or wrong. (and also if that’s what the story was).
We know jewish history.
See, he was testing them because they were rebuilding the beis hamikdosh. So that means there was a previous one which was destroyed. And he thinks they forgot the halachos, so some time must have passed. Which means there was a galus between, so we know that also.
???? ??? because in meseches megilah, it says that we celebrate purim, which happened during that galus, ??? ????
