January 29, 2009 5:31 am at 5:31 am #635147flatbush27Membermyself definitely included, people have no busha of ruining their name or rep because everyone here is annonymous. also i feel if you dont personally know the other person your talking to its easier to get nasty than with a friend per say. i will start trying to be nicer in my posts although usually i am not the first to act
January 29, 2009 5:33 am at 5:33 am #635148asdfghjklParticipantames: yeah i agree!!!
January 29, 2009 5:38 am at 5:38 am #635149qwertyuiopMemberi can tell you one thing, joseph doesn’t usually mean what he says, as i found out about 2 weeks ago.$
January 29, 2009 5:43 am at 5:43 am #635150oomisParticipantTeen, you are right that healthy debate can be a good thing. Unfortunately there has been a great deal of acrimony posted here in the guise of “healthy debate.” It isn’t very healthy, and it is often diatribe, not debate. There are arguments and there are ARGUMENTS. When someone tells someone else that he or she is stupid or ignorant or any of a number of similar words, or worse, that the person is full of kefirah – that has passed the healthy debate stage and is really offensive. Attacks such as some that we have seen in the past certainly show that person up for not knowing how to be mekayeim mitzvos bein odom l’chaveiro, though they are very sure they are excellent at bein odom l’Mokom. There has been some improvement as some people came to realize how they were coming off to others. I doubt that anyone who posts here intentionally wants to cause onaas devarim to another Jew, but it certainly has happened on occasion. If they were kidding, they need to get a new sense of humor. State your beleifs all you want, I think it’s fantastic, and we learn a lot from each other this way. But no one should attack when they disagree. Just sayin’…
January 29, 2009 5:57 am at 5:57 am #635151oomisParticipant“if you wouldn’t say something to someone’s face, you shouldn’t type it either.”
Ames, I am fairly certain that some of the posters here would have no problem with saying some of these things to other people’s faces! :p

January 29, 2009 7:02 am at 7:02 am #635157qwertyuiopMemberi dont know how to do the whole fancy thing with the quote, so anonymiss you’re gonna have to teach me one day.$
asdfghjkl: this is fromames last post: i don’t want anyone to think that i had any specific person(s) in mind, because i don’t. there are A LOT of nastiness going on from posters who usually have really positive things to say. each one of us are not being as nice as we should be (actually, i think asdf is the only exception to this- i dare you to find a mean comment from him).
so there you are, happy.$
