    2 questions,
    1) Doyou think that we’ll ever have another president, who is a total outsider from politics and for him entertainment comes first before politics?

    2) do you think trump will ever make it back to the office (in the case that he finds he can be bothered after his relaxing four years)!?

I certainly hope CA is right. If not, though…

    1) Sure, why not?

    2) If he’s not convicted in the Senate, it’s very likely he’ll run again. Whether he’ll win would probably depend on how the country is doing then.

CA: Some here seem to believe that the Donald is Moishiach so maybe your theory is true

No, GH. Nobody here has ever implied anything like that. Although that hasn’t stopped you from saying it over and over.

(1)Yes to the the first half of the question. It doesn’t look like Republican are interested in career politicians anymore. Nonpoliticians like Ben Carson and Herman Cain are also very popular in the Republican primaries. My guess is that the next Republican nominee to WIN will be someone like one of them.

(2)The only way Trump can become president again is if (a)Biden REALLY messes up (b)At 82 Biden runs for reelection (c) There are no Republicans running in the primaries who manage to connect with voters (d)Trump actually wants to run again. IOW zero chance

Trump may run in the primaries again for the thrill of adoring crowds. That would be wonderful for whoever actually Republican nominee because the media focus and hate will be focused on Trump instead of him the entire primaries.

My prediction is that if Trump is not convicted in the impeachment trial he will seek the Republican nomination in 2024, easily win it, and lead the Republican Party to a blowout loss of historic proportions. I think McConnell knows this and wants Trump convicted.

I can’t for the life of me figure out how impeaching someone soley to prevent american citizens from having their choice of president isn’t interfering in an election. Ohhhh, righ, cuz democrats write their own rules.

Charliehall – agree that McConnell sees Trump as a drag on the GOP.

As to the poster who is having trouble with how impeachment works, they should take a look in the constitution. Part of the basic law in the US if you will. Really not complicated and has been around a few hundred years. Not sure anyone currently in congress was involved in writing these rules. But, what should I expect, just the typical mudslinging against democrats that I have come to expect here.

I understand impeachment, you didn’t understand my comnent. And you aren’t fooling anyone by subtly alluding to me instead of naming me outright. You may have forgotten but i haven’t that your FIRST post ever was to be nasty to me, so you get what you’ve asked for. And again, bug off.

“Ben Carson and Herman Cain are also very popular in the Republican primaries. My guess is that the next Republican nominee to WIN will be someone like one of them.”

#1 There have been no Republican Presidential primaries in more than 4 years. They ARE not very popular, maybe they WERE years agoi.

    #2 Someone like them?????
A dead Black man who was foolish enough to attend a Trump super Spreader event without wearing masks, contracted Covid and died or a former Brain Surgeon who was totally incompetent to run HUD?

#3 The white Supremacist Trump wing of the Republican Party will not nominate an old Black male to run in 2024.

Watch out for the reactionary Latinos from the deep south such as Cruz who think thye South shall rise again and the Civil War has not yet ended.

“I can’t for the life of me figure out how impeaching someone soley to prevent american citizens from having their choice of president isn’t interfering in an election.”

    Here to help!

There is nothing wrong with “interfering in an election”

Every time a politician says “vote for me” he or she is “interfering in an election” certainly endorsements from other politicians from newspapers etc is all “interfering in an election”

Nobody ever said interfering in an election is bad.

What they did say is bad is FOREIGN interference in an election. The idea being that Americans care best for American interests, and Russians/Chinese/Israelis/Togolese would put their interests first possibly underming American interests. (you can of course disagree with this argument and say there is nothing wrong With foreign interference, but that has nothing to do with impeachment)

Of course ILLEGAL interference is bad too, such as illegally making it difficult for people to vote .

But “interfering” in of itself when done legally isn’t really a thing . let alone wrong.

It is people with your bigoted and condescending attitude which is very prevalent in the media that causes people to vote for Trump or join either more radical groups

So, typical of the right wing Trumplicans. You can’t dispute my post, so you attack me personally.

McCain is DEAD of Covid 19 contracted at a Trump Super Spreader event

Rafael Cruz, Senator from Texas is a Latino, born in Canada to US parents who courts the extreme right wing and fought Trump for the 2016 nomination. He encouraged the mob who cane to DC and will provably seek the 2024 nomination, playing up to the white supremacist garbage ion the Trumpilcan throng.

CTL – usually you would be corre t in saying that personal attacks come when there is no argument. In all fairness, that just doesn’t hold water in these topics. There is no listening, and having legitimate responses doesn’t help. Heck some posters get slammed for legitamate questions, let alone responses. No side is blame free in this.

There is nothing in your post to respond to hence my response was limited to an observation.

You are the one who responded to my comment that the next Republican to win will be a non career politician LIKE HC or BC by attacking both of them on a personal level bringing in white supremists and talking about “reactionary Latinos from the deep south such as Cruz” (where did that come in?) etc.

With such a response I can only respond that people with your bigoted and condescending attitude are why people vote for Trump or join either more radical groups.

You did not ask a question. You deliberately mischaracterized how our government functions as set by the constitution to malign democrats. You either clearly don’t understand how American Democracy works and in that case you might be forgiven for your error or you were just engaging in a nasty partisan attack motivated by hatred of the other side (not long ago you were decrying this mean behavior, how hypocritical to then engage in it baselessly). So please stop with the pity party.
