My poor wife, who as you can imagine is losing her mind from being married to me, was making chicken soup tonight, and she put in pieces from the houseplants. She claims she was “thinning them”, but I didn’t see how that explained putting them in the soup.
She didn’t even check them for bugs!!!

Nor is it polite to make fun of people for being more married than others.
Anyhow, why would you need to check houseplants for bugs?
after pesach, your wife deserves a few days of rest. you popa can run the house and cook .
popa did the plants have three pointed leaves like canabis?
Or was she trying to poison you with ivy?
Were they fruit filled, like hamantashen? Were there fruit flies?
Put some chicken soup in the houseplants.
For a plant, eating chicken is not as bad as being a vegetarian, but still wrong.

Not if you were going to put them in the soup, but afterward as long as you strain the soup and check it for bugs.
If popa_bar_abba’s wife grew things like parsley as her houseplants, then it wouldn’t be so weird. And if the plant spent its entire life cycle indoors, then perhaps it didn’t need checking?
