What is the big deal to signal if you are turning a corner or changing lanes? Its the height of laziness and so inconsiderate as well.
You know, this is a real pet peeve of mine, especially when the person not signalling makes a left turn in front of me. I signal even when there is NO car around anywhere; it’s the law.

like who are you to stop ure car at dismissal tme on abz street or avenue??!!

Because when I signal you suddenly notice that I’m about to pass you and you try to block me or steal my lane. If you’d just come to terms with being a slowpoke and let me on my way we’d be at peace.
When I’m in a turning lane that is marked for left only or right only I don’t signal because its redundant. All other times I do signal.
Sometimes I signal when I’m not about to turn. For example, if someone pulls up next to me at a light indicating he will try to cut me off on green, I will signal that I’m about to turn into him and rattle him, then blow smoke in his engine intake when the light turns.

As a pedestrian this is really annoying you wait to turn your signal on about 3 seconds before you turn if u had signaled before i could have crossed.
Are you asking about me? I don’t know where I’m going until I turn.
It’s even worse when they signal to the right & then they turn left. So confusing. Or suddenly drive out of a parking spot right in front of you without any signal at all.

So annoying! Its just as bad as not stopping at a stop sign! Its annoying as a pedestrian and frustrating as a fellow driver.
They probably dont know how to do it. Or they are paranoid and dont want you following them.
I am very meticulous about right of way when I am driving. I have right of way.

3. Whadayawant from these poor drivers (no pun intended)? What with their cell in one hand and steering wheel in the other, they do not have a hand free with which to signal
Because THEN people would know where they were GOING!

In my view, people don’t signal cause they think they don’t need to bother with such petty little things. It’s an attitude that shows selfishness and inconsiderate behaviour. The only time I don’t signal is when I am in a filter lane, which only goes one way. Even when the roads are empty, at night, and no pedestrians, I still signal.
notasheep: I agree with what you posted except for not signalling when you are in a filter lane. If you are turning your steering wheel (yes even when you are making a k-turn!!) then the blinkers should be flicked on. Doesnt matter where you are or who’s around you.
Every time that drivers do not use an arrow signal when turning or changing lanes, they are committing several aveiros as a result.

miritchka, if you are in a lane that can only turn in one direction, it is redundant to signal, and in England at least you do not have to signal by law. If you need to switch lanes to move into the filter lane, then of course you should signal. The whole point of signalling is so other drivers know which direction you are turning, but if the lane is clearly marked as only allowing the driver to turn in one specific direction then people already know where you are turning.
To list a few: g’neivas daas; g’neivas z’man; chillul Hashem; v’nishmartem m’od l’nafshoseichem; deeno d’malchuso.
If chas v’shalom an accident happens as a result or worse, you can include a lot more.

It’s the law of the country that when a person drives, they should signal to indicate which direction they are turning. Not to do so is against the law of the land.
Many people are too busy talking are on their phone, or adjusting the radio/climate control and just don’t care. My thinking is there is even more reason to signal when you don’t see anyone, because if there is someone and you didn’t see him/her you won’t be careful.
