Mosquitoes have been a pest and a danger for humans for as long as both humans and mosquitoes have existed. We as a species are responsible for the extinction of quaggas, dodos, aurochs and many other animals. We also eradicated smallpox. Why are we keeping the bloodsucking insects around?

PETA and other animal rights wackos opposes the killing of mosquitoes as animal cruelty.

We can get rid of mosquitoes without actually killing any.

Because mosquitoes are part of the food chain. Other animals eat them like birds and frogs

    By putting them in zoos?

Because we are not G-d and can’t eradicate cancer either. I remember reading that for each disease we eradicate, if we are not worthy another one will take its place. Or something like that. Perhaps someone has more info on this topic, as I don’t recall it exactly.

The United Nations should get rid of mosquitos. They are terrible at solving other international problems, but this is a real worldwide issue with many possible solutions.
