Agreed. Joseph happens to be right on all 5 points there. Sure, there are some parents who mess things up for their kids, but the way things are generally done is correct for normal, healthy parents, who genuinely want what’s best for their children. In my world, that’s the majority.

In my world, there’s world peace, no shiduch crisis, no sick people, wonderful weather worldwide, universal recognition of Hashein and appreciation for, and adherence to, Torah and mitzvos.

Glad to hear it. So why do you care if the parents get involved in shidduchim?

you must be fortunate to be a person of true Bitachon and Emunah. When you have faith and trust in Hashem then you have no issues in life and Hashem handles all your problems

I wish more people would work on themselves and be blessed to be as happy as you and issue free

    Mashiach Agent, SDD:

    Emunah or naivety?

Or perhaps, trying to run away from the problems out of fear of facing them .

SDD- has Moshiach come in your world? That encapsulates a lot of what the Rambam says will happen with the arrival of Moshiach.

    Hashemisreading- agreed.

In terms of whether parents or children know better, I’m biased, since I’m a child in shidduchim. I take care of my shidduchim pretty much exclusively. In my particular situation, I think my parents would agree with me that I understand how to handle shidduchim better than they do.

I’m not saying that this is the norm, or that this is a good thing (I don’t think it is), but just that this is my situation.
