I love “Romance” by Ralph Lauren.
I like perfumes that don’t have that “fruity” flavored smell.

January 26, 2011 8:02 pm at 8:02 pm #732565eclipseMemberScents are 200% related to memories!
I can no longer wear anything that made me nauseous when I was expecting, and the ones I wore in High School make me feeel young again!
The ones that remind me of bad people are off the list altogether.
But my mother a”h always told me:
Too much perfume out of the house is not tznius’dig.
Wearing too much on a date is NOT FAIR to the guy.
Just wear enough to be a person with a pleasant scent.
(sigh)I miss her!

January 26, 2011 11:05 pm at 11:05 pm #732576bptParticipant“Scents are 200% related to memories!”
Wow, Eclipse, its scary how well you have me pegged.
To this day (and we’re talking since the mid 80’s) if I catch a whiff of Lauren (the red bottle, with the gold cap) I think of someone who used to wear it.
So much so, that I won’t let my wife wear it.
January 26, 2011 11:28 pm at 11:28 pm #732577mom of a fewMemberbpt the lauren brown bottle does remind me of a girl from high school! you are 100 percent right.
January 26, 2011 11:40 pm at 11:40 pm #732578mewhoParticipanti think perfume should be outlawed in certain places just like smoking.
for those who are allergic it causes severe discomfort.
wear it in your own house, not at the table next to me in the restaurant or the seat next to me on the train
January 27, 2011 3:26 am at 3:26 am #732580eclipseMemberIt’s even a Kiddush Hashem to look (and smell) pleasant/presentable.
January 27, 2011 7:12 am at 7:12 am #732582yael.eParticipantit is assur for a man to smell the perfume of a married woman other than his own wife. In this light, I find this to be a topic which is inappropriate to be discussing in this company.
January 27, 2011 3:44 pm at 3:44 pm #732584smartcookieMemberYael- it’s assur for a man to smell it, but not assur to discuss it.
I’m enjoying this discussion a lot. I’m planning to try some of the perfumes listed here.
And I also believe that some men here will refer to this thread when buying their wife a gift!
January 27, 2011 3:53 pm at 3:53 pm #732585apushatayidParticipant“It makes me choke!!! :”
I recently drove my sister and her baby daughter to the pediatrician. While there, my sister said, Doctor, i’m noticing that lately she is coughing and wheezing a lot, what could it be. His reply, if I had to sit on your lap all day I would also choke, you are wearing way too much perfume for your baby, she cant handle it.
January 27, 2011 3:58 pm at 3:58 pm #732586SacrilegeMember“His reply, if I had to sit on your lap all day I would also choke”
LOL! (totally using that Dr when I have kids)
January 27, 2011 4:09 pm at 4:09 pm #732587ramateshkolianMemberI also agree that this is not a tznius topic, especially the post from a man telling us his favorite perfumes…would he like to share what color hair he likes in women, what size, what types of figures, etc….There’s a reason it’s assur for a married man to smell it- meaning IT’S PROVOCATIVE…i don’t think people would be discussing victoria secret’s latest products…why discuss this?
January 27, 2011 4:36 pm at 4:36 pm #732588dunnoMemberramateshkolian
Do you have a source that it’s assur?
January 27, 2011 4:53 pm at 4:53 pm #732589apushatayidParticipantI am a man. I have not read anything remotely suggesting “provocative” in this thread.

January 27, 2011 5:25 pm at 5:25 pm #732590BEST IMAParticipantI sell perfume but for some reason i never heard of eau de Goq. Goq if you ever come out with your own scent let me know ill sell it to everyone in the CR! Chloe is very nice, J’adore, Versace, Gucci, D&G Light Blue, Daisy. I personally like Burberry Brit its very soft not too much. For all of you that were bothered by this thread perfume WAS created for a purpose and like everthing it can be used in the wrong way. It is assur for a man other than your husband to smell your perfume so dont overdo it.
