A long long time ago, I read an article written by a Jewish woman. She said that once someone asked her, “If the Holocaust happened again, who amongst your friends would hide you?”
What bothered her most about the question was that in response, she thought about it, seriously. Only after that did she hope that it would never come to this. However, when presented with the hypothetical circumstance, it wasn’t impossible.
Recently, I don’t know if anyone I know who isn’t Jewish would risk one’s life to protect me. Thank G-d for Hashem and emuna.
Do you have somewhere to hide? May we never need to be in this position again.
Thank you.

I will protect my family and fight until my last bullet. I will never be led like sheep to the slaughter – NEVER EVER AGAIN.
Every single Jew should be armed. If you own a property, you can very easily get a gun license. Get one NOW. Go to the range once a month. Lock it in your attic safely away from your children. Stock up on ammo. Thank me one day.

He thought he was safest in America.

That said, at least right now in my life, I have more pressing priorities and basic needs to meet before thinking about investing in arming myself.
I hear you though!!!
How realistic is survival if one shoots? Won’t someone else just come after? And then someone else? Or one could get a hurt in the process and then what? Go to the hospital where it’s also not safe?
I feel like hiding, moving, and/or changing one’s identity would be less risky in the long-term.

August 18, 2017 11:47 am at 11:47 am #1341831iacisrmmaParticipantjoseph: Why do you state that R’ Kahane HYD thought he was safest in America?
August 18, 2017 12:08 pm at 12:08 pm #1341840JosephParticipantiac: Meir Kahane said outright, in those words, that he’s safer in America than in EY.
August 18, 2017 1:12 pm at 1:12 pm #1341848zahavasdadParticipantThere were plenty of Non-Jews who helped save jews . However it really wasnt so easy, so even if you were sympathetic it doesnt mean you could risk doing so. You could be sympathetic to the plight of a jew, but that doesnt mean you want your own children shot for helping (Yes this was a punishment for doing so)
Poles who were caught hiding jews were executed on the spot. Other non-jews who were caught hiding or helping jews were sent to a concentration camp.
Most of the people who survived did so because they had some help, Help could just be telling someone where there was a hiding place or giving someone some food
