i’m looking for a house to stay for vaction in north miami if any body knows please let me know.
January 2, 2009 4:22 am at 4:22 am #636712brooklyn19Participantdon’t know of anything but i can’t resist asking: you DO know how to spell “tierd,” right???
January 2, 2009 4:40 am at 4:40 am #636713qwertyuiopMembernot everyone is a teacher and cares about spelling as much as you
January 2, 2009 4:57 am at 4:57 am #636714shkoyachMemberLook in the Yated classified, there are always rental options… what neighborhood are you looking for… there are nice neighborhoods through out but depends on what you want. Major tourist attractions are Miami Beach. North Miami Beach has a beacutiful Torah Community also and may be cheaper… Be careful though if you are staying in hotels you may be exposed to lots of pritzus (dont know what you’re concerns are but consider yourself warned in advance) You are better off finding a house in the communities then staying on collins by the hotels but do your research and make your decisions. There are also some nice ppl that love doing hachnasas orchim and you can contact the rabbanim there to find out abt who they are. Enjoy!!!
January 2, 2009 6:00 am at 6:00 am #636715brooklyn19Participantnice try qwertyuiop, but i teach in the mornings. ivrit be’ivrit so there’s no english spelling involved :}
January 2, 2009 6:36 pm at 6:36 pm #636716qwertyuiopMemberoops my bad IM SORRY brook
January 5, 2009 7:19 pm at 7:19 pm #636717PhyllisMemberMiami is the best place to stay in Florida for simplicity sake. Kosher food for one thing, my idea of vacation is not bringing along tuna fish cans…I know some pple tht try diff places in Florida and bring along tuna, mayo, crackers, oranges…might as well go for a picnic!
January 5, 2009 11:11 pm at 11:11 pm #636718AliyahLiftParticipantnorth miami beach is a ‘normal neighborhood’ you won’t be getting ‘beach excitement’ there lol . the good point is you wont be cold and there are restaurants and parks and stuff. i think it’s very nice!
January 6, 2009 11:19 am at 11:19 am #636719intellegentMemberIs there a kollel in north miami beach?
January 6, 2009 4:56 pm at 4:56 pm #636720AliyahLiftParticipantyes there is a kollel, and a yeshivah

Parrot jungle, wanna do city, beach…
January 18, 2009 6:06 pm at 6:06 pm #636726Just SmileParticipantYou could always frequent the Yeshiva in NMB. It’s called Yeshiva Toras Chaim. It’s a Chofetz Chaim branch with around fifty in the Bais Medrash and around 90 in the high school.
🙂
January 18, 2009 8:00 pm at 8:00 pm #636727dunnoMemberThanks just smile the only problem is that I’m a girl so I probably won’t be too welcome there! I’m not going with kids but I need some ideas besides for the beach
January 20, 2009 2:29 am at 2:29 am #636728aziParticipantAny hotel on Ocean Drive is a good place to stay.
January 20, 2009 4:37 am at 4:37 am #636729CuriousMemberdunno – kayaking, canoeing, jetskiing, speed boating, swimming, snorkeling, running on the boardwalk, biking, spa, bowling, eat out… Is that enough?
January 20, 2009 5:30 pm at 5:30 pm #636730squeakParticipantMy advice would be to stay inside with the shades drawn until your flight back.
January 20, 2009 7:24 pm at 7:24 pm #636731areivimzehlazehParticipantcurious- need a partner for extracurricular?
squeak- lol lol lol lol lol…. somebody stop this thing
January 20, 2009 7:44 pm at 7:44 pm #636732CuriousMemberneed a partner for extracurricular?
I need a partner for life, not for extracurricular. 🙂
Though yes I do manage to have a grand time when I go on vacation. And even when I’m not on vacation I can stir up fun one day or half-day trips. Just need to have another fun-loving friend.
January 20, 2009 8:04 pm at 8:04 pm #636733dunnoMemberthanks curious! now i just need to know which places to go to for eating out, bowling, the spa, etc…
January 20, 2009 9:00 pm at 9:00 pm #636734areivimzehlazehParticipanteating out- sina seeta (no clue howda spell that thing, but if i recall correctly it’s located in belle harbor- fleishig)
January 20, 2009 9:03 pm at 9:03 pm #636735areivimzehlazehParticipantcurious- don’t sound so desperate, especially not to THE SHADCHAN, not good for the resume. question- do you want a boy/guy/bachur/man that goes jetskiing with his wife?
just a question, i’m not judging
January 20, 2009 10:37 pm at 10:37 pm #636736syriansephardiMemberDunno: go out to eat in water works!!
Arievem: what’s wrong with jet skiing with ur wife?!?! If my husband wouldn’t go jet skiing with me…..that’s just weird
January 20, 2009 10:57 pm at 10:57 pm #636737areivimzehlazehParticipantsyrian- read carefully before exploding
January 20, 2009 10:57 pm at 10:57 pm #636738CuriousMemberareivim – I clearly said I want a partner for life, not for extracurricular. Go back and read my post. Now are we clear? Good. And yes, I think jetskiing would be a great first date 😉
Besides, how can you boast of being shadchan with your zero success rate, thus far?
January 20, 2009 11:06 pm at 11:06 pm #636739areivimzehlazehParticipantcurious- amazing how you took my post further than was intended. don’t get so excited next time, and take what’s written at face value unless advised otherwise
btw- who ever said the title THE SHADCHAN only refers to the CR?
January 20, 2009 11:18 pm at 11:18 pm #636740syriansephardiMemberAreivem 1. I did 2. I wasn’t ‘exploading’
January 20, 2009 11:23 pm at 11:23 pm #636741CuriousMemberareivim – there was no element of excitement there. Did you notice the 😉 at the end of my sentence? Besides, if my post would’ve been serious I wouldn’t have said that jetskiing is a good first date. I don’t think that would fly anywhere.
January 20, 2009 11:39 pm at 11:39 pm #636742areivimzehlazehParticipantok curious- you win, let’s not fight (try this post on for size)
January 21, 2009 12:02 am at 12:02 am #636743CuriousMemberHaha, I’m too busy fighting on the weather thread to deal with this fight… 🙂
January 21, 2009 4:37 am at 4:37 am #636744AshreinuParticipantNMB is a warm community and has nice shuls and weekly shiurim (for women too) kosher restaurants, pizza and bakeries. Has a cool canal/river running right alongside the frum community (its in the eruv too). Beautiful & scenic path for wallking/running/biking.
Miami can easily feel crowded- as if your in NY – by the amount of frum people here. It’s a quick drive to the beach from NMB or a bus ride.
Curious pretty much nailed it with cool activities.
To add a few more –
– Waterskiing, kiteboarding, beach scooter (motorcycle) rental. Not cheap.
-Best Bike/kayak rental prices are at Blue Moon Miami (google it) in Oleta River State Park (right near North Miami Beach)
-Biscayne Bay has cool boat tours @ Bayside Marketplace Marina – speed & sail boat & ‘pirate’ ship tours. 1-2 hours long. Google the marina – call their # for boat ride info.
– check out floridastateparks.org
-Miami Metro Zoo – get around by 2 person bike, trolley and monorail. Lots of cool tours, activities and exhibits. Miamimetrozoo.com
-Parrot Jungle
-Seaquarium (aquarium)
-a butterfly sanctuary – butterlyworld.com
-Miami Botanic Garden – mbgarden.org
-Fairchild Tropical Garden – fairchildgarden.org
