December 19, 2010 2:33 am at 2:33 am #718646Dave HirschParticipantThe mods could suggest from which location people post – depending on the IP address.
I usually post on-the-go. Even my long posts are generally composed on-the-go. Some, I prepare as a draft in my inbox (which can take hours and sometimes days with a paragraph or even a sentence at a time) and then copy & paste to the Coffee Room. I try not to draft anything during work (although I can finish something up – edit- and post).

December 19, 2010 3:32 am at 3:32 am #718648Midwest2ParticipantIf you’re posting from work – be careful. Lots of places monitor workers’ computer activity – that means they save everything that gets sent from their office. Before you post from work – imagine your boss reading your deathless prose, and if he/she isn’t frum, trying to figure out what in the world you’re talking about.
December 19, 2010 4:02 am at 4:02 am #718649metrodriverMembernot I; (Poster #16) First time I hear that there is a different Torah and Halachos for the office and the home.???”? If the computer and internet are “Muttar” in the office why are they prohibited in the home. If they are Assur in the house, they should have the same status in the office. Pork or Chillul Shabbos is assur both at home and at the office. There is a saying by R. Yisroel Salanter ztz”l that there’s no such thing as a good, or bad habit (???). It all depends on how we use it. The internet is a very useful tool. Unfortunately, it’s also a vehicle for a lot of “Tumah”. But a mature, ehrlicher Yid (adult) will not deteriorate into accessing Tumah’dige websites or otherwise use it for assur’dige purposes. Letting children use the “net” is a whole ‘nother ballgame and should not be permitted under any circumstances.
December 19, 2010 10:29 pm at 10:29 pm #718650Shticky GuyParticipantI am a representative from Wikileaks and can tell you that a lot of the posters above have not disclosed correct information about where they post from. We are in the process of compiling a list of where everyone really posts from and will be releasing this information in our usual way aswell as writing to their bosses. Ps i began this post from a uk jail and will finish it either in sweden, australia or g’tanamo bay…
