Does anyone else in the Coffee Room occasionally succumb to this surreptitious nocturnal impulse to snack? What foods present the greatest challenge, and what ways have you found useful in breaking this bad habit? Sweets without a doubt are my biggest downfall, although I am unlikely to discriminate against any carb in the wee hours on the occasions that I snack. Please share your humor and/or your helpful tips 🙂

October 25, 2012 6:32 pm at 6:32 pm #900909tzaddiqMemberdo you actually leave your bed in middle of the night to snack, or is this before going to bed?

It could be either or, I’m embarrassed to admit. Sometimes, when I have insomnia, I will have a little snack 🙁
October 25, 2012 10:08 pm at 10:08 pm #900914aurora77ParticipantI have been pretty successful at stopping this, and I do good things too (like swimming a mile a day). Still, sometimes I am overcome by the munchies!
October 25, 2012 10:46 pm at 10:46 pm #900915ZeesKiteParticipantI am my size for a reason
October 26, 2012 2:48 am at 2:48 am #900916OneOfManyParticipantSyag, are those bags under your eyes? Poor dear, tsk tsk. Have some chocolate. ^_^
October 26, 2012 4:37 am at 4:37 am #900917MammeleParticipantI second Ima, make the tempting stuff less accessible. Living on two floors sure has its benefits, but there are other ways to lessen the snacking temptation, especially when you’re tired and lazy. Put the good stuff on the top shelf (if you MUST have it in the house) in hard to open containers etc.
But I must ask, isn’t the CR a greater cause of sleep disturbance ; ) ?
October 26, 2012 5:48 am at 5:48 am #900918gotbeerParticipantI know someone who woke up in middle of the night and had a dairy ice cream…….the problem was he ate meat for dinner and it wasn’t 6 hours yet…..he doesn’t remember eating it but his wife found the wrapper in the trash…..Lol !!!!!!!!!!!!
October 26, 2012 10:54 am at 10:54 am #900919aurora77ParticipantI have no doubt, Mammele!! 🙂
October 26, 2012 1:46 pm at 1:46 pm #900920funnyboneParticipantGet yourself over to your doc for blood work. It might be a sugar issue. He should test your glucose and insulin. Good luck.
October 28, 2012 4:21 am at 4:21 am #900921aurora77ParticipantHello funny bone,
I should have mentioned that I have had bloodwork done, and everything is normal. Thank you though for this recommendation!
