I see so many people posting on little threads all the time such as hangman, the geography game, jokes etc. Where do you have the time? For me, i’m in school so I don’t really go on as often. But whenever I’m on, I a;ways see someone new posting. don’t you have a life? use it!!
An addict (yes the internet is an addiction) can’t help himself.
Why do you care what people choose to do with their time?
I had a wise teacher in high school who said that if one waits till one HAS the time, one will NEVER have the time. Not just for the CR.
One must MAKE the time.
And we do.
The CR is a social and educational outlet interlaced with Torah and midos.
So we hang up our cyber hats and park ourselves here from time to time.
AYC, Agreed but the question is how much time is healty to do that and when is one overdoing it?

It would depend on other factors, such as if one is getting other things done .
Learning Torah, having intellectual discussions, etc., is a great OUTLET for down time when the other goals have been crossed off from one’s “to do” list IMHO.
dz, your ?? ?????? ???? ???? thread makes posters look up psukim in Tanach, so you get zchuyos for that!
You have personally proven that one can be ??????? ?? ????? using the CR, and that would not be considered wasting time by any stretch of the imagination.
Well if one looks up psukim instead of roaming other places on the internet then of course yes, but it sure dosen’t subsitute a real good old fasion blat gemarah.

I was able to use the vertlech posted on the Parshas Hashavua thread on Shabbos, e.g., so those posters get credit. If they had learned the same vertlech without sharing their learning with who knows how many readers here, they would not get as much credit.
i used to spend time cleaning before the internet. now i am here instead. my house is still clean . laundry gets done, cooking and shopping too.
i am superwoman!
you just forget about sleep. Who needs it anyway? Then you have another 4-5 hours a day to work with.
