No, this is not a recepie thread, nor is it a diet thread. Here on the East Coast, we are soon approaching lunch time (it runs from 12-2, depending on when you start your day), so.. what’s for lunch? Or dinner, if you’re on that side of the globe. (Please indcate if its home made or store bought).

I’ve got roast chicken and marinated vegtables (home made)

Do you always eat Fleishig for lunch? And dairy for dinner? Or will you eat meat again later?

I’m gonna be having now brunch- a lox sandwich and cucumbers.

The WW roll and lox are bought, sandwich is homemade. Cucumbers were grown somewhere far from home.

    And chocolate.

Lunch is usualy leftovers from the prior day’s supper, so most times, it is fleishigs. But Supper is always more than 6 hours away, so I rarely have a problem, even if that night we are having milchigs.

Tonight, though is pizza night (as are 99% of Thursdays)

    “Thursday lunch is cholent”

About 25 years ago my mashgiach once gave a shmooze to bachurim who would go into the yeshiva kitchen friday night and take cholent. Among the things he mentioned was the fact that cholent is a food for shabbos day and it shouldnt be eaten at other times (to show the karaaim/tzedokim that their shitta about not having a fire at all on shabbos was plain wrong, we bidavka ate hot food shabbos day and kept it hot via a fire- not really sure when chazal were kovei to do this). I’m not sure how serious he was when he said it, or if he said it tongue in cheek. What do the esteemed CR rabbonim say on this topic? should cholent be on the menu after wednesday (ladies, i’m not taking away your right to serve leftovers from shabbos, taling about a cholent made specifically for thursday lunch). I thought that perhaps it might fall into the category of “toameha”, but thursday lunch, thursday after mishmor, again friday afternoon and again friday night?

I dont think there is anything wrong with eating cholent during the week, and besides what about cholent is meyuches to shabbos? Are you not allowed to have chicken during the week just because its eaten on shabbos?

SRPsych – sounds like my dinner last night. At 4 o’clock I was hungry and I had 2 matza balls – no soup – in fact they haven’t even been put in the soup. About 10;30, before bed, I had a very large chocolate ice cream cone. I guess a lot of people would think its a strange dinner, but not by me.

Lets see, breakfast today: two cans of Pepsi (not really breakfast, but my morning “food”)

Lunch: Some egg salad, lettuce and pasta with tomato sauce.

Supper: Probably nothing. Maybe a bag of chips at 12:00…

    Why am I hungry now?
