We have 3 phones on AT&T and we didn’t have to pay any deposit on them…we just needed to have a 2 year contract. Overall I am very satisfied with AT&T. They have a nice family plan with rollover minutes. I never heard if a deposit on phones. Either they give you free ones or a discount on whichever phone you want..
Esther: We never heard of such a thing either until we tried to activate our new AT&T phones. With the fifth activation you needed a $750 deposit. If you’re gonna have less than 5 though AT&T is very good.
I need three phones altogether. Im no longer on my contract so I can choose any carrier, but I think when you sign up you have to stick with the carrier for 2 years. Ive been using Sprint until now- the Fair and Flexible plan with 800 minutes shared and free talk after 7 pm. If I want new phones I have to commit to them for 2 years. The Sprint Fair and Flexible plan isnt compatible with most Smartphones. Id like at least one of my phones to be a Sartphone. By the way, which Smartphones are good?
Sam2 – we have 5 phones on our AT&T plan and didn’t pay a $750 deposit, maybe it was just your situation? Did you add them all at once or something?
Ofcourse – AT&T is ok. We have a good plan with rollover minutes, only one phone is a smartphone (iPhone) and texting. We have big phone talkers but never went over.
