    so i have this friend and she asks me to post q’s/start threads in the CR for her. i don’t mind doing it but at what point should i tell her that she needs her own screen name? we’ll discuss a thread and she’ll say to me “if i had a screen name i would say …..” i think she should just get her own screen name so she can join in the discussions. agree or disagree, why or why not

    And did you ask her why she doesn’t post herself? What did she say? Or why didn’t you ask her instead of asking us?

    shmoel: doesn’t bother me and its an old “argument” between the 2 of us if she should get a SN. (yes she knows my screen name. NO i will not ask her what hers is if she ever makes one).

    if you do keep on posting for her, just say that “my friend says” or something to that affect.

    Make a screen name for her. When poting in her name use her screen name.

    HaLeivi, if i did that how will the mods know i am not “trolling”. our sn’s will have the same IP address

    She says she has 2 reasons. One is she thinks she will get addicted and will constantly be checking for posts. I disagree because she reads cr now and is not compelled to refresh every 5 seconds. Second she thinks if she states her opinion then she is opening herself up to attacks. She has some strong opinions about some topics but many of her ideas are middle of the road and very nice and should be shared with others.

    I don’t think they’ll think you are a troll if you are consistent. Also, what I had in mind with that idea is that she’ll get comfortable after seeing her own opinions in her own name. After a while she might be willing to type it in herself.

    tell her you dont want to post for her all the time like shes asking you to. you can discuss threads with her but dont post her thought for her.

    HaLeivi-thanx for that advice. maybe i’ll try that. now i’ll just have to think of a SN for her.
