Why do people ask that question to others? Do people ask how long their Shemoney Esrays are and compare notes? Why specifically do people ask each other what time they finish their seder ?
April 17, 2014 9:29 pm at 9:29 pm #1012229☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAbout 2:20 both nights. What time did you finish?
April 17, 2014 9:38 pm at 9:38 pm #1012230popa_bar_abbaParticipantLeft the first night at 1 and the second night at 1230.

April 17, 2014 10:23 pm at 10:23 pm #1012233popa_bar_abbaParticipantHow many drank all 4 cups before chatzos like hashem says?
April 17, 2014 11:48 pm at 11:48 pm #1012234HaLeiViParticipantChatzos was moved ahead to match the modern Zman Krias Shma, which is based on the udated Zman Kima.
April 18, 2014 5:09 am at 5:09 am #1012235oomisParticipant1:15 and 1:30 AM respectively, and that was because we had two elderly people with us and were cognizant that it was a tircha for them to be up much later than that. So we kept many of the Divrei Torah for the lunch meals. We did indeed finish our kosos on time, and I drink a full kos each time. It did NOT help me to sleep better…
April 18, 2014 10:14 am at 10:14 am #1012236ChortkovParticipantIf you look in the ???? ???? Haggodo, the ???? is a ???? for the “Seder fight” – who spent longer on the seder. He says ?? ????? ???? — ???? ?????? — ??? ?? ?????.
April 18, 2014 3:43 pm at 3:43 pm #1012237Sam2ParticipantMine’s still going.
April 18, 2014 3:58 pm at 3:58 pm #1012238☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWell, I still didn’t finish mine from last year, so there. 🙂
April 18, 2014 4:29 pm at 4:29 pm #1012239DaMosheParticipantFirst seder I was a guest at someone’s house, and we finished around 12:00. The second night I was home, and finished about 1:30.
April 18, 2014 4:31 pm at 4:31 pm #1012240WolfishMusingsParticipantOurs finished when we sang Chad Gadya.

April 18, 2014 7:26 pm at 7:26 pm #1012243☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantJfem02, lol, I actually did, and decided to turn it on its head by answering the title instead of the OP. It worked. I was waiting for someone to notice. (Yekke2 did answer the OP.)

April 18, 2014 10:16 pm at 10:16 pm #1012245YOSSI151ParticipantSeder Moed?
April 19, 2014 8:56 pm at 8:56 pm #1012246takahmamashParticipantWe finished at about 1. We had only one seder, you know, the way Hashem intended.
April 20, 2014 3:14 am at 3:14 am #1012247☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWe had two sedarim, which is, you know, also the way Hashem intended.
April 20, 2014 3:36 am at 3:36 am #1012248Sam2ParticipantDY: Disagree. Well, sort of. Actually, I’m not sure. But I would guess that the original “what Hashem intended” doesn’t include us living too far away to know what day Yom Tov is.
April 20, 2014 4:05 am at 4:05 am #1012249☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI’m not really in the mood for a deep hashkafic discussion right now, but I think you’re on shaky ground.
Maybe there are different ways to define “what Hashem intended”.
April 20, 2014 4:24 am at 4:24 am #1012250popa_bar_abbaParticipantI listened to chazal instead of mocking them, like Hashem intended.

April 20, 2014 8:13 pm at 8:13 pm #1012252WolfishMusingsParticipantOkay, new poll: How many actually read the OP?
Admittedly, I did not.
As to the OP’s question — I don’t know why people do that. I don’t. What time random (or not so random) strangers finish their seder is no business of mine.

April 20, 2014 10:12 pm at 10:12 pm #1012253HaLeiViParticipantIt’s a much better alternative to how are you.
It is not much different from, what’s the baby’s name, and, who was the Mesader Kedushin?
April 21, 2014 9:25 pm at 9:25 pm #1012254twistedParticipant1;00 chatzot was 12:40, with some elderly, a half hour walk home, and I made it to the netz minyan.
