Snort! You’re such a girl!
November 5, 2010 3:02 pm at 3:02 pm #707857popa_bar_abbaParticipantEverything bagel with lox.
The lox. High quality lox. I like delicate lox, so sockeye salmon is not really right even though it is a really good fish. No farmed fish for me. A good wild atlantic salmon, smoked well, not too salty.
I like to eat a lot of lox. Lox is expensive, so I don’t do it really often, but I’d rather gorge on lox once than eat a normal amount five times. (Picture Alaskan Brown Bears pulling dozens of salmon out of a stream)
The bagel. It must be an everything bagel, and it must really have everything. Especially coarse kosher salt. It must be a real bagel, no out of town bagels.
Purple onion. I don’t always put the onion in the sandwich but it must be there.
The reason we serve purple onion at a bris is so that when you come late to seder and tell your chavrusa you went to a bris, he will know if you are telling the truth. I keep an onion in my jacket pocket for emergencies. (My chavrusa keeps breath mints in his.)
WIY: Figure out which parts are serious. See if you can google it yourself this time.

i dont really have a favorite, but lox and cream cheese is pretty good…
November 5, 2010 3:14 pm at 3:14 pm #707859squeakParticipantEverything bagel with a normal amount of lox, not sockeye (vile), and coarse salt on the bagel. But is it your favorite? No (your favorite would be a double pastrami burger with chili), but you like it. Zehu.

That too. I just find that girls like burgers when it comes to fleishigs. My friends wife is obsessed with Burgers Bar. For the life of me I don’t get it. Its like she’s in heaven.

I generally like fleishigs better than dairy, so my favorite sammich was going to be meat.
November 5, 2010 5:35 pm at 5:35 pm #707865bptParticipantMexican spiced turkey breast, on club, with mayo, mustard and olives. have’nt had one since Feb (I packed it for a flight), and have’nt had one as memorable since.
November 5, 2010 7:04 pm at 7:04 pm #707866not2brightMembertons of good ideas here and i cant really decide which one tops so i would go with:
1- plain bagel with lox and cream cheese
2- hot dog in a bun with potato chips (call me weird)
3- everything bagel twist with tuna (only a specific type, though)
4- hot pastrami on club (mr. broadway)
and there’s a store in my neighborhood that makes sandwiches and if i go there, which i dont 2 often, i would get:
club bread with shnitzel, lettuce, tomato, pickle, green olives, fried onions, reg./ purple onions (whichever one they have that night), a few hot peppers, bbq sauce, ketchup, house dressing

The foods good but Im not ready to rave about a burger. Actually, the only burger I can rave about is the one I had at TFusion steakhouse. It was this MASSIVE 16 ounce burger that tasted amazing. The best burger I have ever eaten in my life. I dont know if they still have it as it was a over a year ago when I had this. Its a great restaurant either way. Really top notch food. Again I havent been there recently but it was great when I was there a little over a year ago.

November 8, 2010 4:05 pm at 4:05 pm #707875WolfishMusingsParticipantIt doesn’t matter what my favorite sandwich is. I’ve already learned on these boards that I’ll have to give a din v’cheshbon for choosing any one sandwich over another. Since I have no reason to have one over the other (aside from personal preference which, I’m told is NOT a valid reason to choose one over the other) and since I’m not going to ask my rav which sandwich is the correct one to eat, I simply accept that I’m going to be punished for whatever I eat.

November 9, 2010 1:36 am at 1:36 am #707881duvdlParticipantBarring that, an awesome shwarma in lafa from Massov or some other Schwarma place takes the cake. Of course, since I am in the US, that’s a little hard.
November 9, 2010 2:01 am at 2:01 am #707882basket caseParticipantTake 2 slices of square sliced challa. Place slice #1 on plate. Cover with chopped liver. Place 2 slices of turkey roll on top. Cover with good sweet coleslaw. Scatter 6 miled bananna pepper ringes on top, then cover with slice #2. Apply slight downward pressure to blend flavors. Trim anything that came out of the sides, with a fork or your finger. Take a large bite from the northeast corner. Continue eating in that direction. ENJOY!

I think you missed Mod 80’s point – personal preference *does* matter, but for someone on a high madreiga, the chesbon can be more complex. Meanwhile, for simple folks like me, (and I guess you,) B’TEIAVON! (But even we can thank Hashem for the delicious food!)
BTW, my favorite sandwich: steak sandwich, hold the bread!

Duvdl – tell me, do you go back to work after a lunch like this? I am glad you aren’t at the next desk. How can you stay awake? It sounds delish though. This would be good for me for dinner because if I fall asleep – maylah.
November 9, 2010 11:10 pm at 11:10 pm #707889popa_bar_abbaParticipantLiverwurst! I cut it into pieces and put them in the freezer because I’m the only one who eats it mostly.
November 9, 2010 11:35 pm at 11:35 pm #707890oomisParticipantTuna, lettuce, tomato, and onion on the freshest rye bread with caraway seeds. sliced on the diagonal and served with a really crisp sour pickle. But nobody makes a tuna sandwich the way I like it best. The owner of the only restaurant that really made my favorite tuna, retired. The restsaurant became a fleishigs place. I don’t know WHAT they put in that tuna, but it was incredible.
