I’ve been wondering for quite a while what some מגידי שיעור mean when they refer to “a בעלים” (ex. “the אדון is not such a בעלים on his עבד עברי.”) . For those who don’t know, בעל means owner in לשון הקודש, and בעלים means owners. An owners?
Is this a different word I’ve never heard of, or just a common misconception?Yiddish PseudoHebrew. Same way balabatim is a real word, or shabbosim.
If you view Yiddish as its own language instead of a jargon, you need to respect its pseudoHebrew words as well.
