February 1, 2011 8:48 pm at 8:48 pm #821572NonsenseMemberBased on the other thread it should be:
What did you do in dorm (instead of learning)?
February 1, 2011 9:00 pm at 9:00 pm #821573gavra_at_workParticipantI just quoted Bava Kamma in the Shira thread.
February 1, 2011 10:12 pm at 10:12 pm #821574yossi z.MemberUh oh looks like the women are infiltrating here also (though the title does not say specifically only for men so I guess it is ok 😀 lol)
February 1, 2011 10:26 pm at 10:26 pm #821575RABBAIMParticipant“DO the Daf”?? Where does that expression come from? We learn Torah…Yegiah in Torah….. Osaik Bdivrei Torah………seder in learning….. we don’t DO THE DAF! Can it come from an old commercial “did you dq today”?? That would be a sad source. We must rise above society through limud HaTorah!
February 1, 2011 10:29 pm at 10:29 pm #821576✡onegoal™ParticipantHey women if you’re in here you have to say which gemara you’re learning :p
February 1, 2011 10:29 pm at 10:29 pm #821577NonsenseMemberyossi z.
Why, do men also learn?
February 1, 2011 10:37 pm at 10:37 pm #821578✡onegoal™ParticipantYochie- Very funny What do you learn? I just got back from my Z’vachim chavrusah.
February 1, 2011 10:45 pm at 10:45 pm #821579yossi z.MemberThere is plenty for women to learn it is just controversial in regards to gemorah.
Yochie: I am going to risk excommunication from my fellow men by saying this, but yes us men actually do learn (just not when you are looking)
😀 yossi 😀
February 1, 2011 10:45 pm at 10:45 pm #821580NonsenseMemberGot back from where? – Might I remind you, THIS is YESHIVA world.
February 1, 2011 10:52 pm at 10:52 pm #821581blueprintsParticipantRight let’s start a chabura on beitzoh
Beitzoh shenoldo beyom to Boruch shemo omrim tochal Boruch hu omrim lo tochal

February 1, 2011 11:12 pm at 11:12 pm #821584eclipseMemberI left,I left!
February 1, 2011 11:18 pm at 11:18 pm #821585Josh31ParticipantEruvin. It is difficult. However, widespread computer concepts help me understand Eruvin concepts. There are virtual “dwellers” and virtual “private domains”.
I see that the famous mosherose is doing Yuma. He will learn that normally husbands are supposed to be with their wives. Only because of the stringent “tahara” concerns with the high priest was he separated from his wife for the 7 days before Yom Kippur.
February 2, 2011 12:14 am at 12:14 am #821586NonsenseMemberblueprints: One should not poke fun at Chazal.
Josh31: Para aduma too.
onegoal: I wrote before what I learn.
eclipse, What are you refering to?
February 2, 2011 12:37 am at 12:37 am #821587yossi z.MemberYochie: there is no gemarah parah aduma but yes the mishnayos are difficult (I learned them with a kid and we had to use play dough to “create” the mishna so he could understand)

February 2, 2011 12:41 am at 12:41 am #821589eclipseMemberthey said it’s more challenging
February 2, 2011 12:45 am at 12:45 am #821590NonsenseMemberyossi z.
You got me wrong, I meant that the Kohein Godol was separated from his wife seven days for a Para Adumah too.
February 2, 2011 12:47 am at 12:47 am #821591NonsenseMembereclipse: tell them to try ???? ????!
February 2, 2011 12:49 am at 12:49 am #821592deiyezoogerMemberHoriyois is not so hard (as in deep thinking, analizing) but you need to be very focused or you will loose track.
