Montreal. Closest place where they speak and serve French this side of Mississippi.

I’d second UJM’s Arizona suggestion. As you know, the contractor being used for the Maricopa County Audit, the Ninja Warriors, just went out of businesses after being unable to find any credible evidence of the BIG STEAL. Nonetheless, the State Republican party is pushing forward and is now seeking “volunteers” for a statewide door-to-door canvasing of voters to match them up with ballots. You and the mishpacha can earn some “public service” credits by going to their website to volunteer.
P.S. While your out there, don’t miss Samarkand Glatt Restaurant in Phoenix. Best borscht you’ll find outside of Brighton Beach

AAQ, if I’m reading the map correctly, New Orleans, Louisiana is on this side of the Mississippi.

    “New Hampshire.“

Do they have a מנין קבוע over there?

I like North Miami. There are some nice villas with a pool. Kosher food and everything. It’s warm and super relaxing.
    Arizona is also really nice

CA: There is always a minyan at the Chabad at Dartmouth in Hanover and there used to be a minyan in Bethlehem but I haven’t been there in more than 10 years so have no idea if they are still in existence and if so, are ‘seasonal” (I was there in the summer).

ujm, predictable nitpicking! I should have said “up to M”, but did not want to ruin the quote

Perhaps should have asked the OP, what is meant by a “long weekend” (i.e. 4 days/3 nights) and what kind of “vacation” focus are you looking for this time of year (i.e. skiing in New England , somewhere warm on the beach, amusement park for the kids, hiking in one of the National Parks in the southwest)

Why would anyone want to go to Montreal now- they have strict covid rules. Additionally, it’s freezing cold- not my idea of vacation

How about a long walk through prospect park?

How about staying home and spending more time on Torah and Mitsvos. For most of our history, Yidden got along quite fine without going away on vacations.

akuperma > without going away on vacations.

Doctors told Netziv to take a vacation on Lithuanian lakes. He sneaked away back in a week as he felt miserable. On the other hand, there were towns in Lita where many Rabonim, including R Chaim Ozer Grozdinski, would go during summer. He once took one of his students to the forest and showed him simanim which berries, grasses and mushrooms are edible. The student was not sure why, but later was able to survive during WW2 in the forest due to this.

amom > Why would anyone want to go to Montreal now- they have strict covid rules.

Maybe that could be a reason? Someone here vacations in your place annually to visit family and both last times came back coughing.

    Montreal, Mont Tremblant in Quebec.
Poconos, there’s a Wegmans there with kosher meat.
    Boston..
Niagra Falls, I went there last year, and it’s beautiful during the winter especially the hike along the Niagara River. There’s also Fort Niagara nearby. It’s from the war of 1812. You can see the Toronto skyline across the lake.

Tell that to the many chashuvah rabbonim who fly to Switzerland, Florida and other “vacation desitnations” at certain times of year.
