Water bill was in the two hundreds, per quarter, it steadily rose over a year’s time and now its up to a thousand, for a 2 family home.
How do we determine the problem? (I dont live there). First we’re going to check all the toilets, what next? I’ve gotten very good advice here.
I need help again. TIA.

Also you can see if there are any slow leaks in the house by looking for water damage.
Good luck.

The DEP will alert you to a potential leak if your usage suddenly goes up over a certain time period. You must have an automated meter reading device installed for the service to work. If you do, follow the link and sign up.

If you do, shut them all off and then turn them back on one at a time and check if the meter is moving (even slightly) after each one that you turn back on. That way you’ll know exactly which item is leaking.

If you follow the suggestions phillybubby made, and watch the website as you turn things back on, you may be able to target where the problem is. I know that my water usage always spikes on laundry day.
It’s also worth it to contact customer service, and verify that no one else is tapping into your line or worse. Call 718-595-7000.
