Assuming you’re in New York City, call any hospital in a Jewish neighborhood and ask for the Bikur Cholim office. I know that Kings Highway hospital has one in the building.

They will be able to give you information regarding minimum age, duties, etc.

Hatzlacha and good job for being willing to volunteer.

I worked in their monsey office about 11 years ago (wow I feel old!). I volunteered for a few hours a week in the summer.

Call up one of their offices and let them know.

For a person to be part of a Bikur Cholim organization is extremely important. There are ways for a person to make themselves involved:

CALL your local Bikur Cholim organization on a WEEKLY basis to ask which patients want visitors, and follow through with those phone calls.

If people see you are interested in doing Bikur Cholim, it will become more than those phone calls. I have Baruch Hashem been able to network and do other Bikur CHolim work, but that’s what it started with.
