    I am looking to go away for about a week In the summer with a friend and I need some ideas. Somewhere that is not crazy expensive.

    best place is in your own home-sending away the kids (big and small).

    Do something during the week, have fun together, sleep in a hotel, and just to have fun like to young girls going on a vacation together for a few days. out of New York. I don’t like new york especially in the summer.

    Also consider Tannersville. Its a bit more heimish than Hunter, but only a 20 minutes away, so you can have access to the food / accomodations of Tannersville and the trails of Hunter.
