I think Israel should release every Palestinian in Israel’s jails because the jail is heaven for them. However , US , Saudi Arabia , Qatar should be the guarantors for every released Palestinian prisoner. If that released Palestinian prisoner commits terrorist attack in future , they (US, Qatar and Saudi Arabia) have to pay Israel unconditionally 1 Billion combined total for every terrorist that is released and commits a future terror in Israel or abroad. Every one wins , Israel wins because it no longer has to house and feed these Prisoners, Israel wins because the world can’t complain that Israel holds these Prisoners in their jails, and Israel wins because I’m sure the released prisoners will never commit a terror crime again as Qatar and Saudi’s Arabia will have to pay and we know they would not want to get them upset . Let US and Saudi Arabia and Qatar show how much faith they have in Palestinians peaceful ways. The EU should be the secondary guarantor if payment is not received. This way a ceasefire can easily be signed as currently the only obstacle is that they can’t agree on which prisoners Israel is willing to release. Money Talks as they say. This will put all pressure on the world and remove all pressure from Israel. Trump being a good deal maker should have proposed this a long time ago.

Why would they? What is Israel offering in return? Remember the prisoners in question want to overthrow the governments in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United States. They have no faith in Hamas “peaceful ways”, and the two Arab countries would probably execute Hamas’s terrorists if they captured them. The “moderate” Arab countries want peace with Israel, and the key to that is negotiating a settlement between Israel and the Palestinians. Israel desperately wants the hostages back, and the more hostages returned alive, the better off it is for the Israeli government.

Israel does have the option of executing any terrorist who is not wearing a uniform, or engaged in war crimes (such as rape and murder of civilians). Also remember, the when a war ends, there is a requirement to release prisoners of war. Note that Israel made a decision to abolish capital punishment, and being a democracy, it is hard to change such a policy without public support.

Why don’t they have the option of executing terrorists who aren’t in uniform? They’re not protected under the Geneva Convention.
