Why do Breslovers go every year? Wouldn’t it be enough to go one time? Additionally I know Breslovers who don’t have any money and are in debt yet they still go to UMan every year. Can someone shed some light on this? It doesn’t seem to make any sense to me that people who can’t afford this go year after year and spend money they don’t have.

August 29, 2011 8:38 pm at 8:38 pm #815911CheinMemberIt’s like when the Yidden were Olah Regel three times a year. A Chosid goes to his Rebbe.

August 29, 2011 11:13 pm at 11:13 pm #815914Sam2ParticipantNot so much Lehavdil. I’m not talking about Uman in particular, but the Gemara does say to visit your Rebbe every Yom Tov.

August 30, 2011 7:18 am at 7:18 am #815916600 Kilo BearMemberThe sad thing is that Uman has become a complete free-for-all. The few real Breslovers who go for the right reasons are overshadowed by an erev rav of menuvelach getting away from their wives and family for a quick break in a country known for pritzus, profiteers who sell food at four to ten times the going rate in other parts of Ukraine, segula sellers, freak Breslov breakaway leaders, wannabes, and everything else including drug dealers.
The rabbonim here in Ukraine always have to deal with one or more lawbreakers who otherwise would end up in the Ukrainian prison system – for crimes that would land them in prison anywhere else, too.

October 9, 2011 10:17 pm at 10:17 pm #815922chanieMemberThen you have the crazy “Na Nachs” which is an avoda zorah in of itself.
October 9, 2011 10:32 pm at 10:32 pm #815923chanieMemberMy husband told me that in all of Shas there is only one instance of a person spending Rosh Hashana in the cemetery, and the reason is that he got into an argument with his wife. It is in the fourth Perek of ???? ?????. There is a ??”?, (The Noda Byehuda), that holds that he dreamt the whole episode, as he was a ???, and wasn’t allowed to enter the cemetery.
October 10, 2011 12:52 am at 12:52 am #815924blablaParticipantI just want to mention that not ONLY breslovers go.
