I have a beged that has Radziner Techeilis that I have had for nearly 20 years. Around that time I asked Rav Scheinberg (Zatzal) if I could wear Techeilis. He said “don’t do it” so I don’t.

Anyhow, is there any problem with removing the old strings and replacing them with all white? Basically, is there a halacha against restringing a beged – either stam or from techeilis to lavan?

Those who hold all-white is bal tigra d’oraisa (afaik, only Rav Schachter and he doesn’t use cuttlefish) would tell you not to. Otherwise, go ahead. Don’t restring the beged while you’re wearing it and do it from scratch to avoid questions of ???? ??? ?? ?????

    Hope you’re feeling better.

Thank you. Turns out that the beged is too worn. It is wool and I usually wear cotton. Is it assur to give them away?
