Hi, what is a typical break on seminary tuition in EY, for a brand-new (just opened) seminary and for a more established one? e.g. if the seminary says tuition is $22000, is it typical to pay $11000? And is it even less for a seminary which just opened this year? Thanks.

Also, government grants can heavily reduce the tuition to seminary, so a lot of families who can’t afford the $20k price still manage to send.

How is the tuition situation different for poor families regarding B.M. vs. Seminary? Are they priced out of seminary whereas B.M. are more likely to discount the tuition?

Depending on which seminary, you can do Hebrew Theological College, Yeshiva University, Touro, Michigan Jewish Institute, and I think TTI (raizel right) also does a program as well. I have also heard that you can get more subsidies if you go through a college that is in your state. The Neve Maalot program also has a way to get credits evaluated as well. I think that you can also apply the fafsa aid towards the cost of the program (meaning if the school charges $1800 for the transcript/credits in addition to the seminary tuition, you can use a loan or grant towards that).

I got about $6000 from Fafsa
$2000 from Masa..
And there you go…
