I have a hold for tickets from Tel Aviv >> Moscow >> JFK (and back) at a fantastic price on Transaero Air. The online reviews I’m reading are a bit scary. Anyone here flown on Transaero and can fill me in on what to expect?
December 22, 2014 5:34 pm at 5:34 pm #1095688zahavasdadParticipantTansareo has $299 round trip tickets to Israel, for A$299 I would take them in a heart beat
I know a few people who flew them without incident

December 22, 2014 7:28 pm at 7:28 pm #1095690zahavasdadParticipantIf you pay by Credit Card, you are protected if they go bankrupt
December 22, 2014 8:02 pm at 8:02 pm #1095691takahmamashParticipantOh well, no credit cards accepted. They want bank transfer, Paypal, or Western Union only. I guess I’m out of luck.
December 22, 2014 8:58 pm at 8:58 pm #1095692zahavasdadParticipantYou can use a credit card with paypal
December 22, 2014 9:01 pm at 9:01 pm #1095693nishtdayngesheftParticipantI know someone who recently flew with them and the report was that it was the worst experience flying they had ever had.
Uncomfortable seats, noisy, rude attendants.
December 22, 2014 10:02 pm at 10:02 pm #1095694zahavasdadParticipantYou can pay $350 for lousy service or $950 for good service on a good airline
Its your decision, once you get there it doesnt matter, you can spend the $600 a ticket on a nicer hotel with better food
December 22, 2014 10:29 pm at 10:29 pm #1095695bringmoshiachParticipantI flew it twice. There were a lot of other Jews on the flights and I felt very safe. It’s not the greatest airline in terms of legroom and food etc., but it got from NY to Israel back without incident twice for a much better price than other airlines.

ONLY 10% !!!!! of the passengers received their luggage in Israel – All the rest of the luggage was left in Moscow!!
No-one was served kosher food on the Moscow-TLV flight- The airline claimed “We forgot to load the kosher orders!!”
What can happen next???
Decide for yourself!

December 23, 2014 6:56 pm at 6:56 pm #1095698HaLeiViParticipantI flew with them this year. They had kosher, behaved professionally and friendly.
December 29, 2014 4:56 am at 4:56 am #1095699One of the chevraParticipanttakahmamash: The information is first hand!
My sister visited this past week and hats what happened.
HaLeiVi (and all others writing about past flights from a while back) The troubles started pretty recently because the airline is in very deep financial trouble, so old stories don’t show anything.
BEWARE!!!
August 14, 2015 2:29 am at 2:29 am #1095700ah yidParticipantFlew with them last week August 4 2015 and back to NY Aug 12. Was very happy with the service. I saved about $900 (for 2 tickets) The only problem I found was, the Moscow -tel aviv plane had very little leg room. On the TelAviv -Moscow flight it was just the opposite the seats were wide width extra leg room I felt I was in first class. The only other problem has nothing to do with the airline. 1) A 5 hour stop over was a bit long. (5 am – 10 am) 2)Unless you eat the airline food with the Russian hechsher you will have to bring along food. Bear in mind the total flight time is about 18 hours.
