    correct on both AYC.

You still need to crack one more – Take away one letter from my new name and you have my king’s name.

I was the only subject of the nevuah of two nevi’im.

    What am I?

    nice try blinky.

but then the riddle would have read:

Take away one letter from my name and you have my king (not my king’s name)

    So keep trying…

    Are you referring to ?????? ??? ???? ???? ???? (Yirmiyahu 33:66)?

OTB – ?? ???? is another son, according to the ??? that ??? ???? ?? ????? ??? ?? refers to Hashem and only the last two words are his name. According to those who consider the entire phrase his name, his name in English would be quite a bit longer.

As an aside, I actually know someone whose name is ??? ???? ?? ????? ??? ?? ?? ????. He is known as ???? but called to the ???? with his full 8 names. His father obviously understood the ???? like the second ??? above.

I was a bit mistaken in my last post: ?? ???? was not another son (of ?????) but a son of Achaz, ??? ??????. The ???? is right after the ??? in which ??? ??? ?? ?? ?? ?????? is mentioned.

I was referring to Chizkiyahu as Rashi explains there.

By the way since nobody seems to know, the answer to the riddle ‘Take away a letter from my new name and you have my king’s name’ is Daniel who was given the name Beltshazar by Nevuchadnezar and then subsequently became the minister for King Belshazar – Daniel’s own name minus the Tes.

Back to the old riddle: When was the first time the jews kept shabbos? I would say NEVER!!! yes, there are Jews that keep Shabbos, but there has never been a case where ALL the Jews kept shabbos based on a medrish (which I do not know where but remember learning) that if all the Jews kept shabbos Moshiach would come. Hence the famous song, just one shabbos and we will all be free! The fact that moshiach did not come yet shows that the Jews did not properly keep shabbos.

Out of curiosity– during the times of Mitzrayim or even in the times of the first Bais Hamikdash (during Shlomo Hamleches reign), did the Jews pray for Moshiach?

even in the times of the first Bais Hamikdash (during Shlomo Hamleches reign), did the Jews pray for Moshiach?

I would have thought that being in exile would be a prerequisite for Moshiach (whose prime missions is the ingathering of the exiles). However, there is a Gemara in Sanhedrin which states that HKBH wanted to make Chizkiyahu Moshiach.

Although, I believe that it was during Chizkiyahu’s reign that the Ten Tribes were exiled, so perhaps once that happened it was possible for Chizkiyahu to be Moshiach…

pasuk with all the letters: Zeh hadavar asher tziva Hashem.. in parshas hamon.

For out of the box thinkers: where in Mikra do we have the same

word 31 times in a row. (two examples)

Esav says to Yaakow “hal’iteni na min haadom haadom hazeh” The verb lamed ayin tes, according to Ibn Ezra, is an ain lo chaver bemikra. (the middle degree of rarity) Where does this verb show up in the Halacha? I have asked this ? to gedolim ve’shalemim, and never got a reply without extensive coaching.

A riddle apparently without an answer: In Shoftim tes, Avimelech ben Yerubeshes is laying siege to the town of Tevetz. The people take refuge in a tower, Avimelech approches the door to burn it, and a woman, nameless except for the term ONE WOMAN ( isha achas) aims a millstone at his head and scores a hit. Many years later ( I did not work out the time line) when Yoav is setting up Uriya Hachiti on the front line, Yoav sends a messenger to David Hamelech, prepared for the expected argument “why did you send them to the wall… Who killed ABY, it was A WOMAN who cast a millstone on him.. This woman entered military history and Strategy 101 for all time. The attachment “achas” or “ehad” is generally indicates a known or unique individual, and the meforshim generally list the identity. Ex. veisha achas mineshe bene haniviim, she is identified as Mrs. Ovadiah. The rock thrower, however famous, remains nameless, at least to my thorough searches.

Related riddle: Lo yachbol rechaim varachev (dvarim 24:6) We learn from here that one may not take k’lei ochel nefesh as collateral on a loan. Where do we see such a life giving utensil used as a lethal weapon? Answer, see above riddle.

Morah Reyna: words with alef: Vayomeru [ish el achiv aval ashemim anachnu] This one has been around a bit.

On the ball: keren hafuch, the youngest daughter of the second batch of kids of Iyov, according to the deos that he actually existed. The bigger question is who she was if he was only a mashal.

This should be easy, but I just noticed it today. Where in Tanach does it say, “Check out the valley on eBay”?
