I hear Trump is quite popular. Should I vote for him?
April 19, 2016 4:10 pm at 4:10 pm #1148310I. M. ShluffinParticipantIf everyone else in the world jumped off a bridge….?
April 19, 2016 4:16 pm at 4:16 pm #1148311Avi KParticipantIs that a reason to vote for someone? Vote for Cruz. He is a staunch supporter of Israel and traditional values.
April 19, 2016 4:18 pm at 4:18 pm #1148312Dave HirschParticipantIf you like Obama and deBlasio then you’ll love Trump!
He’ll make America the next third-world country.
If you want to vote for a winner then vote for Raul Castro (he’s guaranteed to be the Cuban dictator).
April 19, 2016 4:31 pm at 4:31 pm #1148313zahavasdadParticipantDepends if you are a registered Democrat or republicans
Democrats cannot vote for trump and republicans cannot vote for Hillary
If you are registered as neither you cannot vote
April 19, 2016 4:57 pm at 4:57 pm #1148314Dave HirschParticipantI.M. Shluffin,
See lemmings.
April 19, 2016 5:01 pm at 5:01 pm #1148315JosephParticipantZD: Republicans can vote for Sanders and Democrats can vote for Trump.
There is a write-in vote option.
April 19, 2016 5:02 pm at 5:02 pm #1148316🐵 ⌨ GamanitParticipantI’m a registered republican. I don’t love anyone in politics. I dislike almost all politicians. I’m trying to pick the best among all the not-too-good options.
April 19, 2016 5:16 pm at 5:16 pm #1148317tantaliMemberVote for Cruz! (I live in Texas).
Plus, he knows gemara.
April 19, 2016 5:21 pm at 5:21 pm #1148318zahavasdadParticipantThere isnt a write in option for the PRIMARIES, in the general election you can vote for whomever you want.
You actually dont vote for candidates, you vote for a delegate who is pledged to support that candidate, it was a bit confusing
April 19, 2016 5:43 pm at 5:43 pm #1148319JosephParticipantPrimaries have a write-in option. In 1928, Herbert Hoover won the Republican Massachusetts presidential primary on write-ins. In 1940, Franklin Roosevelt won the Democratic New Jersey presidential primary with write-ins. In 1960, Richard Nixon won the Republican Massachusetts presidential primary with write-ins. Ralph Nader ran a write-in campaign in 1992 during the New Hampshire primary for the presidential nomination of both the Democratic and Republican parties.
April 19, 2016 5:50 pm at 5:50 pm #1148320zahavasdadParticipantmaybe other states have write in, but New York does not, this post is about NY
April 19, 2016 6:01 pm at 6:01 pm #1148321HashemisreadingParticipantJews for Cruz.
April 19, 2016 6:06 pm at 6:06 pm #1148322JosephParticipantApril 19, 2016 6:41 pm at 6:41 pm #1148323YW Moderator-79ModeratorOkay, that settles it. Everyone: Vote for me! Moderator 79 for president!
April 19, 2016 7:04 pm at 7:04 pm #1148324Elazar ValkParticipantVote for the most pro-Israel candidate which is Cruz. Rubio would have been probably better against Hillary, but Trump is a wacko and a wild card who cannot be given the nomination. He will lose spectacularly to Hillary or even worse to Sanders, making America into the Soviet Union.
April 19, 2016 8:16 pm at 8:16 pm #1148325Sam2ParticipantTrump is crazy. Vote for anyone else. Kasich makes more sense because he is doing better in NY polls and has a better chance to pick up delegates, but that really varies from district to district. The point is, anyone but Trump.
April 19, 2016 9:06 pm at 9:06 pm #1148326☕️coffee addictParticipantI just voted and there wasn’t anywhere to write in a candidate
April 20, 2016 6:09 pm at 6:09 pm #1148327HashemisreadingParticipantBut alas, Trump it was.
April 20, 2016 6:50 pm at 6:50 pm #1148328JosephParticipantTed Cruz’s biggest margin of victory in the entire NYC, almost 60%, was in Boro Park. Cruz also won in other heavily Orthodox election districts in New York.
April 20, 2016 7:38 pm at 7:38 pm #1148329gofishMemberI am ashamed of my fellow New Yorkers… What were they thinking when they voted for Trump??
April 20, 2016 7:41 pm at 7:41 pm #1148330JosephParticipantThose were the goyim. The Yidden voted for Cruz. See my above comment.
April 20, 2016 7:52 pm at 7:52 pm #1148331gofishMemberI didn’t say my fellow Jews, I said my fellow New Yorkers. Personally, I don’t think Cruz would make a great president either, but I’d take a theocracy over a totalitarian dictatorship.
April 20, 2016 8:28 pm at 8:28 pm #1148333FriendInFlatbushParticipantTrump has yiddishe grandchildren.
April 20, 2016 8:36 pm at 8:36 pm #1148334gofishMemberYa think they’re in the CR?
April 20, 2016 10:33 pm at 10:33 pm #1148335☕️coffee addictParticipantFriend in Flatbush,
And therefore……?
April 21, 2016 12:13 am at 12:13 am #1148336FriendInFlatbushParticipantCA: Truth is that he’s not halachically related to his grandchildren, so it doesn’t matter.
April 21, 2016 12:53 am at 12:53 am #1148337charliehallParticipantCruz finished a poor third place with less than 15% of the vote statewide. Looking at the primary results map, it looks like the charedi areas are pretty much the only places Cruz got any votes. He did win one election district in my neighborhood 8 votes compared to 3 for Trump and none for Kasich. (Those are not typos.) In one election district in the South Bronx, there was a three way tie: Trump, Cruz, and Kasich each received zero votes.
April 21, 2016 1:14 am at 1:14 am #1148338☕️coffee addictParticipantCharlie,
I guess that meant there was no voting republican in that district
