February 1, 2011 5:44 am at 5:44 am #735309kapustaParticipant(practice makes perfect but nobody’s perfect so why practice)
“Nobodys perfect. I’m nobody.”
February 1, 2011 6:38 am at 6:38 am #735310HummingbirdParticipantI certainly don’t consider myself perfect by any means. However, I always try to aim for perfection. But many people tell me that I’m a perfectionist (well, that has a lot to do w/ my upbringing-but I won’t get into that. It’s not something I really want to get into.) Sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn’t. When it works, I’m happy & when it doesn’t, well I guess I just try a little harder the next time to get a better result. All my life I was told/taught that ‘if there’s a will, there’s a way’. So I know that my input has to be the best that it can be so that the output can have the result of if not totally perfect then at least almost perfect.
February 1, 2011 7:00 am at 7:00 am #735311wanderingchanaParticipantHow do you get to Carnegie Hall?
Practice…

February 1, 2011 8:38 am at 8:38 am #735314HummingbirdParticipanteclipse, actually, no I’m the youngest in my family. We are KA”H 4 girls. Unfortunately, I’ve gone through a lot in my life. During a certain point in my life while living w/ my parents, although I love them to pieces, but things had to be a certain way while I lived there so it was somewhat difficult & stressful at times. I then got remarried -but it lasted all of 3 yrs. -I fell in pretty badly, unfortunately. So now, I guess you can say that I’m in the parshah of Shidduchim….
Good Night!! I’m going to hit my sack for whatever is left of this night so that I can still function at work tomorrow. It’ll be a rather busy day at work. It’s the 1st of the month tomorrow & a lot will be happening so I Pashut need the energy to be able to get through my day. Take care & have a good one.
February 1, 2011 2:25 pm at 2:25 pm #735315gavra_at_workParticipantOh well, I had something interesting & informative to post which could have gotten you all many mitzvos, but I can’t post here.

But from what I’m reading, it looks like I’m not that far off.

February 2, 2011 4:28 pm at 4:28 pm #735331psach libi bsorasechaMembersorry to get all spiritual over this, but just a little food for thought: think about it, if we were perfect we’d be dead.
sorry for ruining the fun……;)
February 2, 2011 6:26 pm at 6:26 pm #735332eclipseMemberpsach,when the boys I was redting shidduchim to would tell me they wanted a tall, beautiful, slim girl with olive(sic) skin and round green eyes ,kind soft and gentle and also be willing to work full time cause they planned to learn forever… I told them one of 3 things.
1.I know girls with SOME of the qualities you mentioned, but not ALL in one person, would you care to hear about a girl with only SOME?
2.I think a totally perfect human being with zero faults would have completed her tafkid by now…she wouldn’t need to be here anymore!
3.If I do manage to find a girl with all that in my lists,do you mind giving me a better idea OF WHAT YOU YOURSELF WILL BE BRINGING TO THE PICTURE?
February 2, 2011 7:40 pm at 7:40 pm #735333bptParticipant# 4 –
Tell them to stop looking, as I’ve got the only woman out there with “alleh malles”, and she’s not available at any price.
Ok, serious. Have them look up “Johnny Lingo’s 8 cow wife”, and they’ll see how to find what they seek.
If they can’t understand the story, they’re not ready to date
February 2, 2011 8:23 pm at 8:23 pm #735334eclipseMemberI remember that story!I read it here!Loved it!
February 2, 2011 8:26 pm at 8:26 pm #7353351dayatatimeParticipanteclipse
You should’ve told them to find a girl in Vietnam or South America
February 2, 2011 8:28 pm at 8:28 pm #735336eclipseMemberI actually did help him, because he was humble enough to call back and say he thought about it,and agreed to #1.Can’t share more details, this is public.
February 2, 2011 8:29 pm at 8:29 pm #735337eclipseMemberI’m open about my own stories, not others.
February 2, 2011 9:50 pm at 9:50 pm #735338doodle jumpParticipantOops. Stumbled on to this topic by mistake. My bad.
February 2, 2011 10:43 pm at 10:43 pm #735339observanteenMemberI stopped striving for perfection some time ago. Boy, it was a great relief! I always had to be the brightest, funniest, happiest most popular human being. Gosh, it drove me crazy! I was always on edge and ill at ease. B”H I stopped thinking that way. Hashem doesn’t want us to be PERFECT. He wants us to be the best WE can be!:)(Sorry, smile E. face. I didn’t mean to imitate ur symbol;))
February 2, 2011 11:00 pm at 11:00 pm #735340i am hereMemberI am as perfect as can be. No one is perfect, if you were then you would be hashem.
