September 21, 2009 11:16 pm at 11:16 pm #788772plonisalmonisMemberIf you’re inviting, I want to go also!!
But really – I’ve been there three times (family, camp, school), and the best thing EVER – whirlpool jet boat. It’s geshmak!! But there are a lot of other good things too – like Maid of the Mist, Behind the Falls (whatever it’s called), and that skyride thingy over the water.
September 21, 2009 11:36 pm at 11:36 pm #788773FunnyBunnyMemberI hated the whirlpool jet, btw- I was in the worst possible seat and I couldn’t breathe! But everything else is fun! There’s some great thing on the American side of the Falls- I can’t remember what’s it called right now… memory block. I’ll post it soon.

Going over the falls in a barrel is very entertaining and literally a once in a lifetime experience.
September 22, 2009 12:28 am at 12:28 am #788775mybatMemberI’ve never been to Niagra Falls, maybe one day……..

September 22, 2009 12:51 am at 12:51 am #788777mosheroseMemberNiagara is a nice place. The falls can be beautiful. If only it wasn’t such a pritzusdik place.

September 22, 2009 1:42 am at 1:42 am #788779JaxMemberi loved Whirlpool Jet, was loads of fun!
September 22, 2009 2:06 am at 2:06 am #788780LAerMemberThe “thing behind the falls” is Cave of the Winds. Very cool, especially at night!
September 22, 2009 2:56 am at 2:56 am #788781smh1MemberThe absolute best way to enjoy the falls up close is from the American side, on Goat Island. It’s a beautiful state park, very relaxed, beautiful nature, walking trails right by and above the falls, the “Three Sisters” islands – you can walk across bridges right over the rapids. The Canadian side is very commercial, very busy… this is much nicer, esp. on Chol Hamoed. Take a mini BBQ and a mini Sukkah and enjoy!! I’ve done the Tunnels, and the Cave of the Winds there is way better. You’re mamash up against the Falls! One tip: take a change of clothes, from the waist down, for everyone. You get these cool sandals, and a plastic poncho, but you still get soaked! (PS.If you’re going from the Canadian side, don’t forget your passports!)
September 22, 2009 1:21 pm at 1:21 pm #788782FunnyBunnyMemberThanks LAer, Cave of the Winds. I never did it at night but I can see how it would be so much fun.

September 23, 2009 4:32 am at 4:32 am #788784charliehallParticipantEnjoy one of HaShem’s amazing creations, and stay away from the casinos.
If you are up to it, drive through some of the less well off parts of Niagra Falls, New York. It is actually the most depressing place I’ve ever seen in the United States — worse than the South Bronx, the rural South, or Applachia. It causes me to appreciate the blessings that HaShem has bestowed on me.
September 23, 2009 4:39 am at 4:39 am #788785sunflowerMemberso then why is it depressing?charlie?

Come to think of it, all the Canadian patriots seem to be between the ages of 19 and 21. Hmmm.
