    At Volvie’s recommendation, I looked up the 7 Noahide laws, however law number 7 confuses me…

    6# Eating the flesh of a living animal is forbidden. This teaches us to be sensitive to cruelty to animals. (This was commanded to Noah for the first time along with the permission of eating meat. The rest were already given to Adam in the Garden of Eden.)

    I would take this to understand that we are to be vegetarians? Am I misunderstanding the meaning of the text?

    Hi,

    That’s a misunderstanding, it means that u can’t take meat from a live animal and eat it, but if you slaughter it correctly you may eat it.
