2. Observing how people’s minds work.

December 23, 2010 11:20 pm at 11:20 pm #721339popa_bar_abbaParticipantIts like Jack London’s call of the wild. I just feel a deep stirring in my soul, and the song of the CR surges in my heart. I am only held to real life by a small string.
December 24, 2010 12:31 am at 12:31 am #721340Ken ZaynMemberMod 80: Can you arrange for spellchecker on ywn posts to facillitate the accurate spelling that you are requesting.
And while i’m asking, can you also arrange to show the number of people who visit a thread (hits) even if they dont post anything. It would be a very useful addition and would certainly add to the pull of the coffee room!!!
Finally, how do I change the word ‘member’ under my user name?

ps how do i put a quote in bold and indent it to the right with a nice grey line down the left? This would be a pull for me to the cr.

December 24, 2010 2:05 pm at 2:05 pm #721347popa_bar_abbaParticipantThanks 80.
Just for that I am posting my favorite passage from Mark Twain.
- “It was a crisp and spicy morning in early October. The lilacs and laburnums, lit with the glory-fires of autumn, hung burning and flashing in the upper air, a fairy bridge provided by kind Nature for the wingless wild things that have their homes in the tree-tops and would visit together; the larch and the pomegranate flung their purple and yellow flames in brilliant broad splashes along the slanting sweep of the woodland; the sensuous fragrance of innumerable deciduous flowers rose upon the swooning atmosphere; far in the empty sky a solitary esophagus slept upon motionless wing; everywhere brooded stillness, serenity, and the peace of God.”

December 24, 2010 7:38 pm at 7:38 pm #721355popa_bar_abbaParticipantIt is from a Double Barreled Detective Story.
Twain explained in later editions that the whole paragraph does not make sense and was written as a joke, and that he would have gotten away with it if he had left out the esophagus.
December 25, 2010 7:14 pm at 7:14 pm #721356Ken ZaynMemberTEST: lets see if i understood how bold works

December 26, 2010 1:15 am at 1:15 am #721357mw13ParticipantThe pull of the CR is intelligent (most of the time) discussions that go on here on a wide range of topics, with people from every background, group, age, and gender. It’s not often that that happens in the frum world.
Ken Zayn: Morzilla’s Firefox browser has an automatic spellchecker (among many other useful features), and can be downloaded for free.
