    If there was an “Offbeat Topics” section, I’d put this thread there.

    Go to Google Maps, find Brooklyn, NY and turn on Satellite View.

    Now, zoom in on Washington Cemetery.

    In the Northeast portion of the cemetery, near where Avenue K and East 5th Street would be, is a small plane.

    Zoom in on it – it’s lit up in rainbow colors that appear to be incandescent.

    It’s bizarre looking – I can’t figure out if it’s real or something added by Google.

    What do you think?

    Update: I Googled “rainbow plane google” and multiple hits came up.

    Apparently, this is something that happens when a plane – even a large airliner – is photographed by whatever does the Google Satellite photography.

    Interesting.

    Interesting! They probably put it there as proof to stop people copying it without permission.

    I think it just happened to be flying there when the picture was snapped. It looks like the color of light reflecting off metal.
