absan: People come to this forum to chill out and relax. They use it to express their creativity, and have some fun. So I suppose a lot of threads could be considered “immature”. This is a public yeshivish forum- what were you expecting?
A locked area like on imamother? This isn’t the type of forum to talk about sensitive subjects. It’s just a place to relax and have fun. You want to see more interesting things? Well start a thread about something you’d like to see.
Plus I am not a school child. Just because I am younger than you doesn’t make me a child.

I know they weren’t meant that way, but I think that there may be posters who could possibly have been offended by some of the comments in this thread.
I understand some of the issues raised, but at the same I think that it’s good in some ways to have different age groups in the same threads. I think that people are really able to help each other in a way that wouldn’t be possible otherwise. From what I have seen, the Coffee Room has been the catalyst for a lot of really important things in that way.
Also, age does not necessarily = maturity, and it would be very difficult to split people up by maturity levels.
Another point is that some of the so-called adult topics mentioned do not apply to all adults regardless of age since some people are unmarried and/or childless. It can be very insulting to be excluded from things just because of your marital status. The Coffee Room should be one place where no one is excluded based on age or marital status.
Just my opinion. Take it or leave it. I see the other side, but wanted to present this one.
p.s. to my above post: There are two reasons why I think it’s good to have different ages together:
1. The younger chevra can learn things and get chizuk from the older chevra.
2. The older chevra can work on their middos especially the middah of not looking down on others. Based on some of the above posts…

Person1 – why are smartphones assur?
#igetthehint I am a child and the adults don’t want me listening in to their conversation so today will imyh be my last day..i have heard this way too much on here and everyone is complaining and i feel guilty
Sparkly smartphones give you access to prizut sites (I used a different word the previous time which is probably why it got deleted)
Also they can easily lead to addiction and cause huge amounts of time – time otherwise spent on good things.
Ironically I’m writing this from my smartphone. I have an app which solves the first problem but the second one is still an issue.

person1 I just got a smartphone and I didn’t download any games and social media. I had a friend lock the appstore, youtube, and browser. I also requested all my friends not to send me any videos on whatsapp.
I only have important apps.

As this is an off-topic thread – any idea why I see new messages in two hours delay?
Those messages just weren’t approved until long after they were submitted. (At some times of day, there are no mods on duty.)

No you cant eat at McDonalds because everything is tareifa there..not only pigs..But you can go in ,perhaps look around especialy when your starved.What do you think will happen you will be so hungry your stomach will ache..Same goes with unfilterd smarthphones .You might see things that wont get off your mind and you will be starved to go back otherwise you will get a stomachache..
