February 10, 2009 10:50 pm at 10:50 pm #999574asdfghjklParticipantareivimzehlazeh: a girl was dressed as a chassidish boy and was walking along. A group of drunk boys grab her/him and start dancing. You’ve never seen someone that panic stricken in your life… ha they must have been panic stricken!!!!
a friend of mine’s parents used to dress up as each other years ago, i always thought it was so creepy!!! the guy would wear his wife’s real sheitel!!!
February 11, 2009 3:37 am at 3:37 am #999575anon for thisParticipantMy oldest child is a girl; her brother is about a year younger than her. One Purim, when they were 3 and almost 2, I dressed them as each other. It was amusing because people really had trouble telling them apart, since they were almost the same size & looked so much alike. Since they were very young I didn’t consider this inappropriate, but I wouldn’t let them do it now that they’re older.

February 19, 2009 4:00 am at 4:00 am #999605anon for thisParticipantbeliever,
How about an egg (sunny-side up) & toast?
February 19, 2009 4:40 am at 4:40 am #999606syriansephardiMemberAmes the husband will be the prince n the wife the pauper. She should put a lot of bronser on spots of her face to make it look dirty and then just patched up clothes…it’ll be cute!!

February 19, 2009 4:47 am at 4:47 am #999608mdlevineMemberaround 18 years ago, I wore a chicken costume and mrs. mdlevine wore an apron and a chef’s hat and carried a big pot and a spoon.

1)bubba ???

February 19, 2009 12:50 pm at 12:50 pm #999612mchemtobMemberbeliever – a million years ago when I was in seminary in ey a friend and myself dressed up as meraglim. we wore all white underneath and took material and draped it like a toga over our clothing …got a really long branch, decorated it with green tissue paper for leaves and blew up purple ballons and atached it to look like grapes.
February 19, 2009 2:13 pm at 2:13 pm #999613anon for thisParticipantames,
One way to dress up as an egg would be to cut a large piece of foamboard into the egg white, then glue a yellow plate or round piece of foam or felt in the middle as the yolk. Use a piece of ribbon to make a strap in the back to hold it on. I found this is a magazine once.
February 19, 2009 5:04 pm at 5:04 pm #999614syriansephardiMemberAsdfghjkl: OMG I like that Idea!!!!!!!!!!! If we have a contest I’m doing it!!!!!!!

February 19, 2009 9:03 pm at 9:03 pm #999618areivimzehlazehParticipantWhen spotting a person on Purim with a # on the back of their t-shirt, follow these rules:
– approach them and say “Hi, my name is (insert your sn), what’s yours?”
– When the person just raises an eyebrow, slap him on the back and say “hey, don’t be shy, don’t you remember me? I’m the CR psychiatrist/anger manager/vort giver/shadchan/welcome committee/board member/treasurer etc.”
– When the person starts to turn in the other direction, grab their hand and say “now, now, don’t be afraid. I understand you don’t want your identity blown, but these are the CR rules! And being the die-hard CR member that I am- I must follow them!”
Run after the guy for a minimum of 30 blocks- DO NOT GIVE UP
Then you can visit squeak for an emergency session
Good luck to all!
February 19, 2009 10:03 pm at 10:03 pm #999619CuriousMembermoish – I told you so many times, you can’t be so picky! 😉
areivim – I think everyone has to head over to the runner’s thread so that they’ll be fit enough to chase their fellow CR member
beacon- I’ll have to ditto what yuo said!
