I have recently learned that I am not alone in detesting ketchup. Join me, my fellow ketchup-haters!

Even though i started that thread i do not detest ketchup i just don’t think it belongs on scrambled eggs.

Ketchup makes a lot of things taste really good. The only ketchup recipe I took exception to was Gerald Ford’s cottage cheese and ketchup on the morning he became President.
Things taste good without the ketchup. The stuff makes me throw up, and I’m not kidding when I say that I can tell when someone has used ketchup in a recipe. THE ONLY thing I will put ketchup on is a roast, since it tenderises the meat, and I use only enough to rub into the roast before I put it in the oven. AND THAT IS IT.
I feel for all of you. This “thing” is on my no-no list, almost #1. There are many other things that make be break out into the chills, nausea of even headaches when their “aroma” reaches me. I cannot list them here, as people would be able to identify me for my unique list of no-nos. My partial list includes pickles and most types of fish (ugh, did I just mention it??? I’m already…)
What a waste of tomatoes 🙁 – if I were a tomato I would be traumatized to become ketchup. Tomatoes deserve so much more, would anyone think of their rights?! It’s tomato abuse and needs to be abolished.
TAOM, most ketchups don’t even have that much tomato in any more

I am ambivalent about ketchup is their a thread for me?
The only thing I really do not like to see with ketchup (of the types of foods that normally require some type of savory condiment), I cannot abide ketchup on a hot dog. ONLY MUSTARD IS k’halacha.
When I walk into a store and see all those ketchup bottles on display, I have this urge to start smashing them … and then lick it all up!!!

Honestly, I don’t put ketchup all over my food (and definitely not in eggs) but I do enjoy some ketchup (having some now with my FF). But why the hate? I mean, it seems like such a stupid thing! So some people like it and some don’t. Should I start a thread cause I HATE peas? If we all started threads about the foods we liked or disliked this place would be very babyish…

SIDI – guess what? I actually eat them without ketchup! Gasp! A little bit of salt does the trick for me. And sometimes I eat them with mayonnaise. Hellman’s is great stuff.

One of the true evils of ketchup is that it is distributed in tiny packets or hard to pour bottles. Gallon jugs or converted cement mixers would be more suited to supply sufficient ketchup for french fries and chicken nuggets. 🙂

The ketchup-hating taking the place of any other problems, without ketchup, we’re practically perfect.
Granted, ketchup haters probably have an easier time with the laundry.
There’s a widely popular french-fry place in Ocean City, Maryland, named Thrashers. They have a big sign that says “WE DO NO SERVE KETCHUP!” I believe they serve vinegar instead, for those who want.
