American politics is such that the pendulum swings left and right. America is usually a turn for the worse after 8 years of Dem leadership. Clinton did nothing to prevent 9/11 and weak foreign policy brought the failed oslo accords which resulted in bus bombings in Israel. Obama was hostile to Israel and embraced Iran. What price would we pay if Biden becomes president? We know it will be the left wing Harris that will be driving the bus.
August 15, 2020 11:44 pm at 11:44 pm #1892304Reb EliezerParticipantMaybe it was Condoleza Rice who did nothing to prevent 9/11? What did Clinton have anything to do with it?

And 57 times as many Americans have died from the coronavirus as died on 9/11.
Clinton, while a rasha in her personal life, did leave a healthy economy and a budget surplus — the first President to do that since Lyndon Johnson. Bush left us with an economic collapse. Obama left a healthy booming economy and now we have the highest unemployment levels since the Great Depression.

America is usually a turn for the worse after Republican leadership. There, fixed it.

Hashem has also already decided who will win the election for 2020 presidential election. Al Qaeda was a threat in 1993. Till 2000 they built up while the USA under Clinton turned a blind eye. What happened in 2000 was after years of preparation. You’re blaming Bush. Are you for real?
The economy was at it’s best until corona. Do you seriously blame president President Trump for the pandemic’s effect on the economy? Are you for real??
Either you’re a troll, or you eat treifus so your mind is Biden-like in its clarity and reason. But no reasonable person could possibly write the stupidity written above.
The leftist democrats are beyond just being terribly destructive to the country in every way shape and form. They’re both evil and insane. If anyone doesn’t realize that it’s not their head that needs examination. It’s their soul that does. There’s something terribly wrong with a Jew that can even contemplate voting for those vile reshaim.August 16, 2020 8:01 am at 8:01 am #1892359Avi KParticipantCharlie,
1. Former President Clinton is still a male and therefor it is “his personal life”. I understand that you like Newspeak but there is a limit.
2. A Biden/Harris win (I would not be surprised if Harris becomes President in a palace coup based on Section 4 of the 25th Amendment) would mean a war between leftist totalitarians and conservative judges, especially on issues regarding freedom of speech and religion (National Review has an article on why Harris is worse than Hillary Clinton). On foreign policy look for an appeasement policy towards Iran and a continuation of Obama’s alienation of America’s allies.

This demonstrably, incorrect
By virtually any benchmark The US was in a better position in 2000 than in 1992. Similarly the US was in a better position in 2016 than in 2008. Both Clinton and Obama left behind stronger economies than when thy arrived
The same cannot be said when you compare 2020 to 2016 and 2008 to 2000.

You do not have a crystal ball, and POST HOC ERGO PROPTER HOC logic is FAULTYI suggest you troll elsewhere, it is very tiring. Don’t vote Biden, he’ll still win NY, CT, NJ without your vote. Harris will NOT be driving the bus, as you say, unless it is to take driving directions from Biden. I know Joe (met him many times over the decades that I’ve been involved in the party at state and national level). He is steady, works well with others (something Trump is not and cannot do) and if he is running as the candidate, the VP candidate is his supporter, not his boss.
I’ll not be touting a candidate during the next 70 days on YWN. It is obvious who the right wing Republicans are and who are the minority who support the Dems. Arguing is futile, YWN has a set political agenda as evidenced in their headlines and news stories.
I will leave you with one question?
Are you (and your family) better off in 2020 than in 2016?I and my family are not, neither are the 170,000 Americans dead from the Corona Virus, whose response was mishandled by Trump.

The country’s overall direction, is much more dependent on the politics of states and cities. On the federal level, congress is a greater driver than the white house. Presidents have an effect, but it is not so simple, as the President being Republican or Democrat. The President’s abilities are held by Congress. (They used to be. The system has been severely tested the last twenty plus years.)

August 16, 2020 12:42 pm at 12:42 pm #1892580n0mesorahParticipantThe funny thing about this thread, is that everyone jumped on if 9/11 was Clinton’s or Bush’s fault. There is a much better debate about the other event in the OP. Oslo came after the longest republican run in the white house, since the state was created. Israel had it’s first public spats with the american president in the eighties. ALso, the PLO was resurrected before Clinton took office. If Carter had won a second term, there probably would not have been an Oslo or an intifada. Though overall, Israel could be in a worse situation.

tell me how much deaths could have been prevented if trump did or didn’t do what?ill tell you tens of thousands of death in new york wouldn’t have happened if coumo wouldn’t have sent covid patients back into nursing homes
and all over the country if leftists would have stopped encouraging protests and “mostly peaceful” riots with tens of thousands of people without masks there would be a heck lot less cases throughout the countryAugust 16, 2020 6:35 pm at 6:35 pm #1892672n0mesorahParticipantThe Cuomo nursing home libel should end. As I outlined on a different thread, he followed what was then a federal guideline. So did many other states. Some states still had this guideline in place after NY started requiring each patient to have negative test results before going to private care facilities. Some states nursing homes were harder hit than NY’s. Studies conducted indicate that the nursing homes share a large portion of the blame.
There is nothing to indicate that NY would be better off without all the intervention on the state level. If Cuomo would have just kept wishing it away, the state would still be seeing a thousand deaths a day.

The camp david accord is very beneficial to Israel. The Shah was still in power when Carter was president.
Anyhow, you missed the point by a mile. Oslo was only possible because of the decade before it. But, overall it may have been to Israel’s benefit that Carter did not win a second term.

The problem with you Lib Leftists, you somehow with your Lib Main Media – you push the Narrative that Voting for Democrats is OK. No it’s NOT Ok – to vote for Criminals to be the US President!
Clinton was impeached for PERJURY! LIBS – That’s a Crime. Now let’s talk about Joe Biden:
All you hear from our Liberal Media – that there was no Crime for either Joe or his son.
That’s Not the News in the Ukraine.
Here it is:
“KYIV. Oct 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden received $900,000 for lobbying activities from Burisma Group, Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada member Andriy Derkach said citing investigation materials.
Derkach publicized documents which, as he said, “describe the mechanism of getting money by Biden Sr.” at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine’s press center in Kyiv on Wednesday.
“This was the transfer of Burisma Group’s funds for lobbying activities, as investigators believe, personally to Joe Biden through a lobbying company. Funds in the amount of $900,000 were transferred to the U.S.-based company Rosemont Seneca Partners, which according to open sources, in particular, the New York Times, is affiliated with Biden. The payment reference was payment for consultative services,” Derkach said.
He also publicized sums that were transferred to Burisma Group representatives, in particular Hunter Biden, a son of the former U.S. vice president.
“According to the documents, Burisma paid no less than $16.5 million to [former Polish President, who became an independent director at Burisma Holdings in 2014] Aleksander Kwasniewski, [chairman of the Burisma board of independent directors] Alan Apter, [Burisma independent director] Devon Archer and Hunter Biden [who joined the Burisma board of directors in 2014],” Derkach said.
“Using political and economic levelers of influencing Ukrainian authorities and manipulating the issue of providing financial aid to Ukraine, Joe Biden actively assisted closing criminal cases into the activity of former Ukrainian Ecology Minister Mykola Zlochevsky, who is the founder and owner of Burisma Group,” he said.
“Biden’s fifth visit to Kyiv on December 7-8, 2015 was devoted to making a decision on the resignation of [then Ukrainian Prosecutor General] Viktor Shokin over the case of Zlochevsky and Burisma. Loan guarantees worth $1 billion that the United States was to give to Ukraine was the point of pressure. Biden himself admitted exerting pressure in his speech at the Council of Foreign Relations in January 2018, calling Shokin ‘son of a bit… who was fired’,” Derkach said.
The timeline of events proves that the U.S. linked the Zlochevsky case to loan guarantees, he said.
After the decree dismissing Shokin was published on April 3, 2016, the governments of the United States and Ukraine signed a loan guarantee agreement worth $1 billion, several months later, on June 3, he said.
“In this case, there are facts should be subject to investigation. There is an agency that has powers to investigate them; the U.S. Department of Justice. If the Ukrainian Prosecutor General signs documents and send them to U.S. Department of Justice without any requests, he will accomplish his mission,” he said, adding that the Ukrainian Prosecutor General has such powers.”And YOU Libs want this Guy as our President?!?

Ask him. I”m not sure what this means to you. Those in government that are able to govern during crises, did. The others did not. Nobody ever advocated for Trump that he is a great leader in face of a crises. The pandemic should not be held against him. It is not in his skill set. Cuomo opted to clear out the hospitals, instead of death panels. You think it would have been wiser for him to do nothing?!? Or, do you follow every whim theory and think that he wanted more people to die for political reasons?

Memorandum of the CMS of March 13.
August 17, 2020 8:53 am at 8:53 am #1892807n0mesorahParticipantDear One,
Hostility toward Israel, is not hostile to Jews. Big difference.
And, it was not from day one. The only major issue of contention was approving new settlements. Obama brought Israel into negotiations twice. The US never forced a concession from Israel to keep negotiations going. [This is in line with every president since Nixon, applying less pressure on Israel, then his predecessor. Trump is in line with this. In fact it may be impossible for the next president to pressure Israel less.] This was mostly during the second term. In his first term, Obama gave a major pro Israel speech at the UN. (“America has Israel’s back.”)
The redefinition of marriage, mostly happened under Bush’s watch. It seemed like the trend was turning back a bit in state referendums. Then it gained a bit of momentum before it reached the supreme court. Not sure why this is a presidential issue. It never involved the executive branch.
On BLM, I think the reverse is more of a criticism. Obama did little by way of repairing race relations in this country. He did see to it, that his initiatives should be followed through. Also, he is a terrible spokesperson for the guy on the street. He never took a firm position on racism. Bush did a much better job of bringing the country together. Where do you think he empowered BLM? [In other words, what kind of power does BLM have outside of the support of the masses? And, how much is that really worth?]

Negating Israel right to exist, has been demonstrated to be a cover for denying Jews the right of self preservation. Hostility usually means something else. Either way, Obama never denied Israel’s right to exist. Recall his ‘Israel has the right to defend itself’ statement.

There is a thread about defunding the police. There has not been a solid argument how it would make things worse. Biden did not endorse defund. I understand that people love Trump. I do not know why that has to translate into that Biden is a problem. He has been heavily involved in american politics for four decades.August 20, 2020 12:22 pm at 12:22 pm #1894130Dr. PepperParticipantDr. Hall-
As a statistician I’m sure that you’re very aware of the famous saying attributed to Benjamin Disraeli regarding the three types of lies- each one more severe than the previous one.
By stating that the United States currently has the highest level of unemployment since the Great Depression- and purposely leaving out that the United States had the lowest unemployment rate in decades up until the rapid spread of the virus- you are perpetuating the third type of lie. While what you stated may technically be correct you’re purposely misleading others who read it. Even if you feel that the president is 100% responsible for all the damage caused by the virus and purposely caused it- you should not only mention the statistics that fit your agenda and skip the ones that don’t.
Back in the 90’s the Reader’s Digest had an article titled “ This Man Wants You Dead”. The article was about Osama Bin Laden and it was the first time I heard about him or his terrorist organization. If the Reader’s Digest heard of him and understood his threat I’m going to assume that the president was aware of that threat as well.
After the 1998 US Embassy Bombings in East Africa, Bin Ladin and Al Qaeda became household names. He should have been even more aware of the threat and done something to stop him. Had the US eliminated Bin Laden back then they probably would have prevented the September 11th attacks.
By the time Former President Bush came into office it was probably too late to do anything to Bin Laden and the Al Qaeda leadership that would have stopped the attacks. There were less than 8 months left until the attacks and the actual hijackers probably had all the funding and resources needed to carry out the attacks regardless of how their leadership was doing.
You seem to be pretty harsh on Former President Bill Clinton by calling him a female and a rasha. I usually reserve the term “rasha” to someone who is actually wicked. While he may not have been a role model in his personal life I think it’s extreme to refer to him as a “rasha”. I think “immoral” would be a better description unless you know more about his personal life than what’s publicly out there. I also prefer to call someone by the gender they were born as, regardless of what they (or someone else) decides to refer to them as.
What he did in his personal life is something that’s legal and (unfortunately) generally accepted nowadays, although at times it’s frowned upon. When he lied under oath- I actually felt bad for him. He was pushed into a tight corner and was forced to answer a question about his personal life- under oath- in front of the entire country. His choice was either perjury or to admit what he did.
While he was wrong for committing perjury I saw where he was coming from and would not have ruled out voting for a Democratic candidate in the future based on that alone. (While I personally didn’t vote for him in the first place- I wasn’t registered to vote- I wouldn’t have had an issue voting for him.)
My problem wasn’t with him but was with the leadership of the Democratic Party during the Senate Trial. Of the 45 Democratic Senators in the Senate at the time not a single one found him guilty for lying under oath. I found that pretty shocking.
Looking at how the Democratic Senators treated Justice Kavanaugh during his nomination I see that they haven’t gotten any better.
August 20, 2020 12:56 pm at 12:56 pm #1894147Reb EliezerParticipantDr. Pepper, what about the Republicans who dismissed the accusations about impeachment without hearing any witnesses, what kind of kangaroo court was that? The economy will not improve without the virus improving.

August 20, 2020 1:49 pm at 1:49 pm #1894163🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantThey heard all the witnesses to the case, regardless of which floor they testified on. Unless of course you expect some of them may have changed their answers during a second round…again. feel free to argue, but it is a bit more than a chutzpah to call the senate hearings a kangaroo court after the zoo that took place in the house. Proof positive that if they had real charges they would have dealt with them more honestly and with a shred of dignity. Feh. I look forward to the durham report.
