True Sotry(not sure if have all the facts exactly right):
A man jumped off a 13 story building to commit suicide-and was shot on his way down! He didn’t realize when he jumped, but he would have survived the fall because there was a laundry hanging on the 8th floor- but the shot killed him- so who shot him?
The one who shot him was an old man who shot his wife and missed, and the shot went out the window and hit the jumper. However, the old man didn’t know the gun was loaded! He usually threatened his wife with gun when he got angry, but they both knew the gun was always unloaded- so who loaded the gun?
This old couple had a son who was mad at his mother for not giving him a sum of money that he really wanted. Out of anger, the son loaded the gun, knowing his father would soon shoot his mother when they had an argument. However, they were not arguing for a long time, so the son wrote a letter about his situation and decided to jump off the roof of the building! And you guessed it- he was shot by his father on the way down!
This case was closed as the craziest suicide in history.

April 23, 2012 3:41 am at 3:41 am #869975CsarMemberIs this in Snopes?
April 23, 2012 3:43 am at 3:43 am #869976not a modMemberEven if its not true- whoever made up the story was extremely creative and had a sense of irony.

April 24, 2012 1:53 am at 1:53 am #869979not a modMemberHere is the main question: when during the story did you figure out the ending?
April 24, 2012 4:17 am at 4:17 am #869980YW Moderator-42ModeratorIt is on Snopes. The story is told as happening to a man named Ronald Opus. And as Snopes says, “Ronald Opus never lived, but his death will never die”.

There is a show on TV now (for those who watch, and for those who watch but claim not to) called TOUCH. It stars Kiefer Sutherland (of “24”) as the father of an autistic son who can discern events through numbers, and gives his father the numbers. The father, who wants to be able to communicate with his son (who never speaks), uses the numbers to find out what his son is trying to warn him about. The story is so convoluted and interconnected, but by the end, you see where it is all leading. The irony is similar to the urban legend posted here.
