After listening again to both the chumra song and the original aveira song, I have concluded that I dont like either one. I dislike the sequel even more than the original (sequels are usually never as good as the original – yes, I know that technically, one is not a sequel to the other).

@ levaryeh There is no question you have a talent, and what’s better is that usually people who waste their time doing these things aren’t learning, but it’s evident from the lyrics that you are knowledgeable in torah

If clicking on the songs benefits you in any way, I am not adverse to clicking again, this time with mute enabled. I’m not against you, or your songs, I just dont enjoy them.

I thought that it was amazing! there is serious talent that you guys have! What was up with the barber scene in the chumrah video?

    #1077047

pixelate, the lyrics are available on youtube (just click on “show more”).

I toivel my paper plates and bring my own food even when I eat at my Rosh Yeshiva’s house. And of course, libun gamur on my braces, not just before Pesach but between every milchigs and fleishigs meal

    #1077049

I loved the second song, and I was amazed that it was just as good as the first.

    #1077050

Guys, maybe your next song should be on all those so called “segulahs” that people believe in…

That would actually be a fully appropriate song unlike the other ones that knock valid Jewish practices.

WIY: To be fair, most of the things they’ve made fun of have been extreme examples that almost no one does. But I agree, there were things they made fun of so far that they shouldn’t have.

lev aryeh, you should post it on Yeshivaworld video and Matzav, you will get many more hits that way.

It would probably be sufficient to just pour boiling water over your mouth…

@pixelate: Not sure how to put it on yeshivaworld video, and matzav downloads the video and puts it on their own player, instead of embedding from YouTube (same with mahnishmah.com) , so they don’t add to your view count…

@Boruch I’ll be your friend! Thanks for the compliment, and I’m glad you enjoyed. Yes it’s true that we do learn; we are a yeshiva, aren’t we?

As far as Moderator-42, I don’t think those lines were supposed to rhyme; they were just cute suggestions. But:

I toivel all of my paper plates,

I have my own zman for shkiah and neitz,

I bring my own food even to my Rosh Yeshiva,

    I didn’t learn till I was 40, just like R’ Akiva,

On my braces I do a libun gamur,

I work out in the gym, to become Az K’namer

    @LevAryeh

    First off-AMAZING songs!!

i was wondering, how exactly do you get money if ppl. watch the video? how many hits do you have to get before you get ads? can refuse you to have ads? can you decide which ads to have?do you get a lump sum when you first get an ad? do you get paid per view? if so how much? and who pays you-youtube?

i would really appreciate you answering these questions bc I’ve been wondering about these things for a while.

    🙂 Bump 🙂

    #1077062

IBump this should answer a few of your qs.

Youtube has a partnership program where video makers that meet certain guidelines can choose to allow youtube to put ads on their video, and get a percentage of those profits. The amount that you make per view varies but I believe is generally between $1-3 per 1000 views

YouTube pays you per click on an ad (ppc), not per view (ppv). Also, the main profit Lev Aryeh made from these videos is from the hundreds of people who bought the songs on iTunes.

LevAryeh, I like your rhyming of my lines. You have a lot of talent.

Baruch Schwartznegger, I didn’t rhyme because rhyming is chukos hagoyim.

I LOVED this song! It was as great as the first one. A few people are not appreciating it as much since the first one was a new genre that they never saw before and it was so gevaldik when they saw something like it for the first time. By the second one they were already exposed to the first song and their expectations were much higher. So when it was “only” as good as the first they may have felt like they wanted more.

@semisrael Thanks for the intense words of chizzuk. This is the reason many sequels aren’t considered as good as the originals (Think Oceans 12, Hangover 2). The third in a series is often considered to be at the level of the original (Oceans 13). Maybe it’s because people are already used to the fact that they’re used to the genre, and just want to see a good production within that genre. Whew.

@levaryehboy -I was very surprised to see the last post was 3 weeks ago! What happened, people just forgot about this thread? Yeah, I agree that the only reason people wouldn’t like your sequel as much is because they are expecting to be as amazed, amused, and bowled over as they were by the first! But I can’t tell you how many times my brothers replayed your video… it’s a pity only the first view counts because you’d have made a mint off of them alone!

@levaryehboy…I just need to say that I totally saw the guy who was your inspiration for “what not to do on a shidduch date” vid last night…. I couldn’t breathe from laughter.

for those who think that vid is an exaggeration, its not.

ittsme – I appreciate the feedback; I’m glad you enjoyed!

YouTube has actually never made an official statement about what counts as a view, but the general consensus is that it is once per IP, per session. So going back to watch it would count. Also, as long as the page is opened, even if the video is not watched, I believe it counts.

live right – Thanks! I’m sorry you had to go out with such a literal manifestation of the most inappropriate dater I could come up with. My sincere condolences.

@levaryehboy- i wasn’t the guy’s date thank G-d. but the poor girl who was looked completely bewildered/bemused. i just thanked my lucky stars that i wasn’t the one drinking soda with him and enjoyed the entertainment 🙂

when i first saw him i actually looked around to see if there was somebody videotaping the guy because i couldn’t believe that it could actually be happening without a script.

Shades of black and your know they’re back

    Gartel tight and peyos long

Shades of gray and you know what they say

    It’s a cheirim otherwise

Oh, that chumrah song. I’m more of an old fashioned kind of guy.

    #1077080

I actually liked the Chumrah song better than the first because I found the aveira song to be a bit offensive. I loved the second one though!

    #1077081

CM y was the first offensive?

I did watch the video! 🙂 Now I’ve got the line “I’m so ‘frim'” running through my head…. I really enjoyed the shidduch date video too. Made me feel pretty self-conscious, as I happened to be wearing an ossur item called a denim skirt at the time that I saw it. 😀

Suggestion: Can your next video be a non-rap song? Maybe a parody of a classic rock song? Those are always fun to do.

    #1077085
    LevAryeh

I’m not a big fan of parodies in general, with the occasional exception of Weird Al. Maybe I’ll do an original rock song, or maybe a style parody.

Or maybe another sketch. How many songs can I make already?

Or maybe, time to call it quits and no more videos. I do EVENTUALLY need a shidduch…

    LAB,

Just a friendly reminder- it’s almost Chanuka. Meaning, Purim can’t be far behind (even in a leap year).

Sincerely hoping you”ll remember what you told Chiyenna…

I know you know your videos are excruciatingly funny. What you may not know is how many of us out here you’ve kept breathing through some incredibly tough times. Deepest, heartfelt thanks!

(As for Justin B, I thought finding a rhyme, any rhyme, for b’tzibbur was amazing!)
