July 2, 2013 1:55 pm at 1:55 pm #1076990playtimeMemberWhat are the lyrics to the “Aveirah song”?
July 2, 2013 2:17 pm at 2:17 pm #1076991HaLeiViParticipantThe Chumra song can have doing Bikur Cholim without your shoes.
July 2, 2013 3:14 pm at 3:14 pm #1076992ultimateskierMemberLevaryeh- i wanted to get in touch with you guys and suggest the idea for AGES:) thanks for reading my mind! Look up the thread avierah song here and see my (grades’s) version of the mitzvah song.

July 2, 2013 4:42 pm at 4:42 pm #1076994LevAryehMember@HaLeiVi: Actually on Rabbeinu Yona (Avos) to “Asu syag latorah”, among other collected Rishonim.
@ultimateskier: I think I wrote the first line for The Chumrah Song about a day or two after The Aveirah Song came out. So, thanks for reading MY mind!
@Popa and Oomis, thanks for the support 🙂July 2, 2013 5:32 pm at 5:32 pm #1076995apushatayidParticipantthere is a chumra not to sing. will that be part of the song?
July 2, 2013 5:56 pm at 5:56 pm #1076996eclipseMemberDay One: White List the YWN Coffee Room on my filter, after loooong break.
Day One: (5 minutes later) Comment on Aveira Song.
There is a lot of talent amongst these fellows. However, certain phrases will stay in people’s heads that will not increase their love and respect for mitzvos…in fact, one word of (sarcastic) laytzonus can push away a whole lot of (positive) mussar.
It made me sad to watch that video. Sad, because it became popular so fast. You guys are usually funny…but when all eyes are upon you, there must be “damage control”.
July 2, 2013 6:02 pm at 6:02 pm #1076997🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantDon’t know a thing about the avaira song but I wanted to be the first to say HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lyrics:
Every song needs an introduction… because…
CHORUS
A song without an introduction,
Is like chicken soup without no lukshen,
My producer just looked at me and nodded,
I think he wants me to get started.
Testing, testing, aintz tzvai, drai
I eat a gid hanasheh every bite,
I put on my left shoe before my right,
You think I don’t do aveiros? Don’t even wonder,
I never make a brucheh when I hear the thunder,
My wife wears a sheitel, not a tichel,
I eat the herring without the kichel,
I drink every night ad delo yudeh,
I never sing zemiros at the shabbos sudeh,
I hang around with a goyishe oilem,
I never do bikur cholim,
Yeah I hang out with goyim vus iz nisht gemalet,
I don’t put on my paper, beis samech daled.
CHORUS
I spoke to my goyishe friend named Boris,
He wrote me up this little chorus,
It breaks up the song so it doesn’t get boring,
And now we’ll continue with the recording.
I go to shul and I’m just chillin,
I only put on one pair of tefillin,
I never cry when I go to levayos,
I eat the matzah, less than a kezayis,
I don’t even care about chulev stam,
I don’t even like be’er mayim chayim,
I go to the games with Derek Jeter,
I always get married during sefira,
I do aveiros, oid ve’oid,
I never go on trips on chol hamo’ed,
I never daven tefillah be’tzibur,
I listen to the tapes, from Justin Bieber.
CHORUS
I cruise around in my ’05 Taurus,
Blasting out the second chorus,
I feel like I’m rocking up the whole joint,
And now we’re at the halfway point.
I’m such a goy, vus hut du getracht,
I learn the gantzeh nittel nacht,
Chassidim and rebbes are not my types,
I wear the tzitzis without the stripes,
I always say lashon hara,
All my friends do avodah zara,
I’m such a tzioni, I sing Hatikva,
I don’t even pay when I use the mikva,
I changed my name to Sam, from Shmuel,
I don’t even like Eretz Yisrooel,
I don’t ask for a shidduch when I go to Amukah,
I give more than a choimesh to tzedukeh,
I use the Internet for the news,
I do birkas kohanim with my shoes.
CHORUS
Don’t turn it down, don’t ignore us,
Listen up to the final chorus,
I haven’t yet showed you all my cards,
Mir halt shoin by the line fun twenty yards.
I do shnayim mikra without the targum,
When I see an Amaleiki I would never harg him,
I’m the biggest ba’al aveiros in the velt,
I never give my kids any chanuka gelt,
My esrog is always full of black dots,
I always make a brucheh when I wash urchatz,
I eat in the sukkah on Sh’mini Atzeres,
I toivel in the mikvah holding a sheretz,
By Haman’s name I always cheer,
By shulem zuchers I only drink root beer,
By the Purim shpiel I never laugh,
For afikomen I use the smaller half,
I only drink gimmel koises,
I eat tons of marror without charoises,
Rosh Hashana by simanim I eat the shvantz,
By my chasunah I had an aveirah tantz.
CHORUS
Too much of your time I’m already spending,
So now I’m gonna take you to the ending,
I hope you like and I hope you enjoy,
This song about a yid who thinks he’s a goy.

July 2, 2013 8:04 pm at 8:04 pm #1077003playtimeMemberLevAryeh, Tell us a little a bout Yeshiva Lav Aryeh. And did you make these videos to collect for the yeshiva?
July 2, 2013 8:13 pm at 8:13 pm #1077004TheGoqParticipantA huge welcome wagon welcome back to eclipse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 2, 2013 9:30 pm at 9:30 pm #1077005LevAryehMember@playtime: Lev Aryeh is a yeshiva in Jerusalem for English-speaking bachurim between the ages of 17-22.
We made The Aveirah Song as part of a few videos which we put together for yeshiva’s purim shpiel this year. (One of the others was Things Not To Say On A Shidduch Date, which is also on our channel on YouTube.)
The positive response we recieved for The Aveirah Song was overwhelming. We toyed with the idea of making a sequel, and after getting many requests for one, we figured it would be a great bein hazmanim project for the bachurim who stayed in Israel for the summer.
We didn’t make the songs to collect for yeshiva; this project was initiated and spearheaded by the bachurim, and encouraged by the hanhala.
July 2, 2013 11:04 pm at 11:04 pm #1077006temimusMemberLevAryeh: Are you the lead singer in the Aveira Song or one of the others in the spoof?

July 2, 2013 11:14 pm at 11:14 pm #1077008eclipseMemberMy thanks ended up in a funny spot:)
Thanks for all the “hello” posts!
July 2, 2013 11:20 pm at 11:20 pm #1077009WIYMemberLevAryeh
Did the Hanhala want this to go on youtube and become an internet sensation?
July 3, 2013 12:08 am at 12:08 am #1077010LevAryehMember@temimus I’m the lead singer dude.
@WIY We suggested it and they encouraged it. It ended up giving Lev Aryeh a lot of publicity.

July 3, 2013 2:54 pm at 2:54 pm #1077016oomisParticipantLevAryeh, your What not to Say on a Shidduch Date STILL has me ROTFL. I think I met ALL those guys 40 years ago.
July 3, 2013 2:55 pm at 2:55 pm #1077017oomisParticipantHow about “Things not to say to your Shviger?”
July 3, 2013 4:25 pm at 4:25 pm #1077018temimusMemberC’mon, guys. Please don’t inundate these Yeshiva guys with new song requests. After all, they also need some time to… learn.
😉

July 18, 2013 7:49 pm at 7:49 pm #1077023Shopping613 🌠ParticipantLev Aryeh, your songs are really nice, my whole family loves them! But we think that 1. You could not use so many yiddish or hebrew terms that girls have no idea what it means since they dont use it and they dont learn gemara. 2. That you say the words a little clearer. Besides that u guyz ROCK!
July 18, 2013 8:15 pm at 8:15 pm #1077024LevAryehMemberiPhone smashing? I don’t think so. The Chumrah Song was filmed on an iPhone though.
July 19, 2013 12:08 am at 12:08 am #1077025oomisParticipantCan we get the lyrics to the Chumrah Song? (way to go!)

July 21, 2013 8:54 pm at 8:54 pm #1077030LevAryehMemberLines are written over the course of a few weeks, I never really sit down to write. We’re in and out of the studio in 5-6 hours, and we shot over about 5 days.
July 22, 2013 2:16 am at 2:16 am #1077031mbyrkMemberImpressive! Are you guys planning another music video? We’d love to know that there’s more to look forward to…

July 22, 2013 2:27 pm at 2:27 pm #1077033Torah613TorahParticipantI liked it. Especially the bleach and beach parts. It wasn’t quite up to the level of the Aveirah song, but still very funny. Well done.
